This place matters.
Oklahoma City National Memorial reminds us the Memorial Marathon is about more than running — it’s about remembrance, resilience, and community.

On race day, Brian will start at 2:00 a.m. and finish before the official race begins. We will run the official marathon and
Then I’ll turn around and run the entire course again.
Together: 104 miles.

This is a great chance for your first marathon, half marathon, or the new quarter run — and one of the best ways to see Oklahoma City in a way you never have before.

We’ll have training days together, plus a SugarWOD track to help guide your training all the way to race day.

All donations support the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon Foundation  and the Koda Foundation

Thank you for being part of remembering. taken in Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon by @brytener

The Worlds worst conciliation prize. Ran the pumpkin holler ultra this past weekend. Signed up for the 100 miler. Started out how I wanted and felt good for quite a while. It had begun to rain and it seemed like it rained for a long time. Lost my phone, found by another runner who came up as I was trying to decide if I should go look for it. It got wet and was no good. Had a location mix up on my drop bag, totally my fault, got names of the aid station mixed up so had minimal nutrition for 20 or so miles and I could tell. The rain felt good though but not to my feet after 4 hrs or so of it. Made the first loop and tried to fix my feet, which I could not. Set out for loop two and got to 49.71 miles, the second aid station and by then I knew I wasn’t going to make the whole 100 so called it a race. Really bummed, I’m not all that much more sore than after a normal long training run but my feet, once they go they’re gone. This medal is the motivation to go for another 100 in the spring. Really disappointed in my lack of preparedness but hey lessons learned and something to build off. Still have a goal in front of me and more work to do. Training starts again, going to get this goal. Thanks everyone for the encouraging words and support leading up to the race, it made a difference for me going into it. It really meant a lot. And thanks @truckcampingandtrailrunning @jaredmuse for challenging me to push myself to where I’d even attempt this goal and for all the help. by @brytener

✨ 36 Miles. 12 Hours. A New Year’s Journey. ✨

The clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve, and @jaredmuse and I set out on a 12-hour run—for me it was a journey of reflection, resilience, and quiet determination.

Over 36 miles of running, slow jogging, walking, and moments of stillness, I actually fell asleep standing up around 6:15am haha, I leaned into the silence and listened. I reflected on my purpose: to create space for others and myself to learn and grow.

I thought deeply about what I need to let go of and what I need to pick up to move towards the personal and professional goals before me, well as deeply as I could considering the struggle bus I was riding.

This experience reminded me:
🏃‍♂️ I am resilient.
🛤️ I can keep moving forward, even if it’s just one small step at a time.
💪 I can find courage and stay moving even when fear is present.

The path ahead is still unfolding, but I’m grateful for this reminder: Purpose fuels perseverance, and every step matters.

Here’s to a year of courage, clarity, and forward motion.
Action Step Invitation:

Take an hour (or even just 30 minutes) this week to step away—go for a walk, a jog, or find a quiet space—and reflect on these three questions:

1️⃣ What do I need to let go of to move forward?
2️⃣ What do I need to pick up or learn to grow?
3️⃣ What’s one small step I can take this week toward my purpose or goal?

Then, share one insight or step in the comments below or with someone you trust. Let’s keep moving forward together—one step at a time.

At midnight tonight in the stillness of a new year, I’ll begin a 12-hour run challenge—moving from darkness into light, from night into day. The rules are simple: try to maintain silence and stay moving forward.

For the past few months, I’ve been exploring the intersection of contemplative practices and physical movement. When we push our bodies to their limits, our hearts and spirits often open in unexpected ways to the divine. In physical vulnerability, we become spiritually vulnerable—and in suffering and stillness, meaning begins to emerge.

Over these 12 hours, I’ll reflect on purpose, goals, and what I need to release in order to move forward. I’ll ask myself hard questions and listen for quiet answers.

This image, taken during my Camino de Santiago pilgrimage, carries the same message: Don’t Look Back. A reminder to keep moving forward with intention, courage, and clarity.

Here’s to embracing the discomfort, the silence, and the sacred work of putting one foot in front of the other.

El Camino From Sarria to Santiago , 115 or so km’s. Some marked by silence, some by solitude, some by conversations, and some laughter. Still so much to reflect and process on this journey and the next steps ahead what to let go of, what to carry forward, what’s aligned with my purpose and what is not. This walk brought out a lot to wrestle with, to accept, and compass points to move forward. Best part was my dad being along for it and watching him do more than he ever thought possible, to watch with pride as he took step after step and then to grab his hand as we turned the corner and took in the sight of the cathedral and the physical point marking a spiritual “goal?” of sorts. Peace freedom hope and love felt deeply in my bones throughout as I stepped into thin space after thin space, the places where heaven and earth seem to touch. For now I’m holding on to something that hit me in the middle of it all, I’m just a temporary vessel of these things I aim to experience and live out, peace hope love and joy, temporary but consumed within the Eternal Now, so every little thing is gonna be alright. by @brytener
