We often talk about inclusion when discussing who gets to participate in imagining the future.
But what if the deeper question is whether the tools of participation themselves are unequally distributed?
What happens when people no longer trust their own realities enough to imagine from them?
What happens when the categories through which we understand ourselves emerge in one place, while legitimacy emerges in another?
What happens when we learn to look at ourselves through frameworks that were never built to recognize us whole?
A few thoughts on situatedness, legitimacy, language, and the continuity between lived experience and knowledge.
