On 15th December, a delegation of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Dr. Anil Kumar Jain, President BSG, Dr. K. K. Khandelwal, CNC BSG, and Mr. Niranjan Arya, International Commissioner & SCC Rajasthan State BSG met the "President of India Ms. Droupadi Murmu and invited Her Excellency for the 18th national Jamboree."

The Asia-Pacific Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is holding the APR Regional Scout Committee Meeting in Yangon, Myanmar, on 17–18 October 2026.

Dr. K. K. Khandelwal, IAS (Retd.), Chief National Commissioner of The Bharat Scouts and Guides and Chairman of the APR Strategic Transformation Sub-Committee, is attending the meeting.

The triennial committee meeting brings together regional Scout leaders and youth representatives to discuss governance, review regional priorities, and advance the implementation of the Regional Triennial Plan. Key areas of focus for the 2025–2028 term include strengthening Scouting across the Asia-Pacific Region, enhancing youth engagement and leadership, promoting good governance, and advancing the region’s strategic priorities.

Management Development Programme of West Central Railway at the Bharat Scouts and Guides, NTC, Pachmarhi

The Third Management Development Programme for supervisors of West Central Railway was organised from 12 to 16 October 2026 at the National Training Centre, The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Pachmarhi, under the guidance of Shri Dilip Kumar Singh, General Manager, WCR. A total of 39 supervisors from various departments participated in the five-day programme, which aimed to strengthen their leadership, managerial skills, decision-making abilities and administrative efficiency. On 16th October, during the closing ceremony, Shri Neeraj Kumar, Senior Deputy General Manager, WCR, the Chief Guest, addressed the participants on the importance of effective management and leadership.
During the workshop, Shri Arup Sarkar, Deputy Director of Scouts (Leader Training), took sessions for the Railway Officers on The Bharat Scouts and Guides and its legacy, leadership types, qualities and competencies. He highlighted how Scouting and Guiding promote discipline, teamwork, service and leadership skills. During the closing ceremony, he emphasised the importance of Scouting and Guiding in youth development and highlighted the valuable contribution of the Railways to the Scouting movement.

The Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) 2026 was celebrated on 17 October 2026 at AVG Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kovilambakkam, Chennai, under St. Thomas Mount Education District. The programme was graced by Dr. G. Kailashapati, Principal of AVG Vidyalaya, and Smt. P. Bhakiya Lakshmi, LT(G), as the chief guests. The event was coordinated by Mr. S. Ramesh, ALT(S), JID: 3IN040BFE, Radio Call Sign VU2SVF, Tamil Nadu, and Mr. G. Venkatesh, Pre-ALT(S), of the Nethaji Scouts and Guides Group. Around 95 participants, including Scouts, Guides, Cubs, and Bulbuls, enthusiastically took part in the celebration, promoting friendship, teamwork, communication skills, and global citizenship through the spirit of Scouting and Guiding.

Representatives of The Bharat Scouts and Guides, National Headquarters, participated in a workshop titled “Reimagining Prevention: Drug Demand Reduction in India,” organised by the Delhi Government in collaboration with the Central Government team at the Delhi Secretariat.
During the discussions, Shri Bablu Goswami emphasised the need to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to guide school students and street-connected children in recognising the warning signs of substance abuse, promoting peer awareness, and seeking appropriate support to help prevent drug addiction among young people.
He also highlighted the importance of providing appropriate training and guidance to empower Scouts and Guides to contribute responsibly and effectively to drug abuse prevention initiatives, including awareness generation, peer education, and community outreach.
The workshop provided a valuable platform to discuss the role of youth organisations in drug demand reduction. The discussions highlighted the importance of structured policies, practical guidelines, and meaningful youth participation in building a healthier, safer, and drug-free society.

युवा नशामुक्त होगा, तभी देश नशामुक्त होगा। इसी संकल्प के साथ नशामुक्त भारत अभियान की छठवीं वर्षगांठ के उपलक्ष्य में 16 अक्टूबर 2026 को मध्य प्रदेश के दतिया में जनजागरूकता कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। सामाजिक न्याय एवं दिव्यांगजन सशक्तिकरण विभाग के मार्गदर्शन में स्काउट-गाइड, एडवांस कॉलेज, ट्रू विजन वेलफेयर सोसायटी, समर्पण नशामुक्ति केंद्र एवं नशामुक्ति मित्रों के संयुक्त सहयोग से आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में छात्र-छात्राओं ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।
कार्यक्रम की मुख्य अतिथि जिला शिक्षा अधिकारी एवं पदेन गाइड कमिश्नर श्रीमती विद्या मिश्रा ने कहा कि स्काउट-गाइड के विद्यार्थी नशामुक्त भारत के निर्माण में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा सकते हैं। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों से स्वयं नशे से दूर रहने तथा अपने परिवार, मित्रों और समाज को भी नशे के दुष्परिणामों के प्रति जागरूक करने का आह्वान किया। इस अवसर पर छात्र-छात्राओं को नशामुक्ति की शपथ दिलाई गई तथा संकल्प-पत्र एवं जागरूकता पंपलेट वितरित कर नशे के शारीरिक, मानसिक, पारिवारिक और सामाजिक दुष्परिणामों की जानकारी दी गई। कार्यक्रम के समापन पर उपस्थित सभी लोगों ने स्वयं नशे से दूर रहने और परिवार एवं समाज में नशामुक्ति का संदेश फैलाने का संकल्प लिया।
कार्यक्रम में स्काउट-गाइड सचिव एवं नशामुक्त भारत अभियान के जिला स्तरीय मास्टर ट्रेनर श्री जयराम पटवा, श्री चरण सिंह हिंडोलिया, श्री गोविंद सिंह धाकड़, समर्पण नशामुक्ति केंद्र के संचालक श्री संजय भार्गव तथा नशामुक्ति मित्र श्री दीपक यादव, श्री विनय साहू, श्री भानु प्रताप पांडे और श्री राहुल तिवारी उपस्थित रहे। अंत में स्काउट-गाइड सचिव एवं नशामुक्त भारत अभियान के जिला स्तरीय मास्टर ट्रेनर, दतिया, श्री जयराम पटवा ने सभी अतिथियों, शिक्षकों, विद्यार्थियों एवं सहयोगियों के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया।
“A Drug-Free Youth Will Lead to a Drug-Free Nation.” With this resolve, an awareness programme was organised in Datia, Madhya Pradesh, on 16 October 2026 to mark the sixth anniversary of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug-Free India Campaign). The programme was organised under the guidance of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, in collaboration with the Scouts and Guides, Advance College, True Vision Welfare Society, Samarpan De-addiction Centre, and Nasha Mukti Mitras (volunteers promoting a drug-free society). Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides organised the Global Handwashing Day 2026 observance at the State Headquarters, Unit-III, Bhubaneswar. The programme was graced by Rotarian Abhishek Mitra, President, Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Neeladri, in the presence of Rotarian Basudev Bhatta, President, Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangha; Rotarian Pritiraj Satapathy, Artist; Rotarian Tanmayjeet Ghose, Social Activist; Mr. Biswajeet Ghose, State Commissioner, OSBSG; and Mr. Sarat Chandra Paikaray, State Secretary, OSBSG. Around 280 participants from various local schools in Bhubaneswar District took part in the programme and demonstrated the importance of proper handwashing with liquid soap to maintain good health, prevent diseases, and promote hygiene practices in their respective communities.

ईस्ट सेंट्रल रेलवे भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स के दीन दयाल उपाध्याय जिला संघ द्वारा जिला आयुक्त स्काउट-सह-वरीय मंडल कार्मिक अधिकारी श्री नीरज कुमार के निर्देशन में 16 अक्टूबर 2026 को संयुक्त आपदा प्रबंधन मॉक ड्रिल का आयोजन किया गया। यह अभ्यास राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रतिक्रिया बल (NDRF) की 11वीं बटालियन, वाराणसी के सहयोग से डीडीयू मंडल के डीडीयू यार्ड में आयोजित किया गया। इस मॉक ड्रिल में यात्री ट्रेन के पटरी से उतरने, डिब्बों के पलटने तथा उनमें आग लगने जैसी आपातकालीन परिस्थितियों का अनुकरण किया गया। इस अवसर पर मंडल रेल प्रबंधक श्री उदय सिंह मीणा तथा विभिन्न शाखाओं के अधिकारी एवं रेल कर्मचारी उपस्थित रहे।
रेलवे आपदा राहत कार्यों में भारत स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स की भूमिका को ध्यान में रखते हुए, स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स ने इस अभ्यास में सक्रिय रूप से भाग लिया। उन्होंने दुर्घटनाग्रस्त डिब्बों में घायल एवं फँसे हुए यात्रियों की भूमिका निभाई तथा ट्राइएज पोस्ट पर प्राथमिक उपचार और स्ट्रेचर उपलब्ध कराने में मेडिकल टीम की सहायता की। इसके अतिरिक्त, उन्होंने यात्री सहायता बूथ पर यात्रियों की मदद करने, भीड़ को व्यवस्थित एवं निर्देशित करने, वाणिज्यिक शाखा को सहयोग देने तथा निकाले गए यात्रियों को राहत केंद्र तक पहुँचाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
यह मॉक ड्रिल सहायक जिला आयुक्त स्काउट-सह-सहायक कार्मिक अधिकारी श्री सुमित चटर्जी, जिला सचिव श्री संतोष कुमार पांडेय तथा जिला संगठन आयुक्त गाइड श्रीमती श्वेता के नेतृत्व में सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न हुई। इस अभ्यास के माध्यम से स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स को आपदा प्रबंधन, प्राथमिक उपचार, बचाव कार्यों तथा आपातकालीन परिस्थितियों में समन्वित रूप से कार्य करने का व्यावहारिक अनुभव प्राप्त हुआ।
Deen Dayal Upadhyaya District Association of the East Central Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides organised a Joint Disaster Management Mock Drill on 16 October 2026 at the DDU Yard under the guidance of Shri Neeraj Kumar, District Commissioner (Scouts)-cum-Senior Divisional Personnel Officer. The exercise was conducted in collaboration with the 11th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Varanasi, in the DDU Division. The mock drill simulated emergency situations involving the derailment of a passenger train, overturning of coaches, and fire in the coaches. Maharishi District of the Tamil Nadu State Bharat Scouts and Guides organised the Tritiya Sopan Camp – Zone I from 15 to 17 October 2026 at the MIRS Camp Site. A total of 107 participants, comprising 83 Scouts and 24 Guides, along with their Unit Leaders from MVM, Chetpet, participated in the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Ms. HariPriya, JRC. Mr. D. Poornachandran, LT(C), District Secretary, Maharishi District, coordinated the course.
During the camp, the participants received training in various Scouting and Guiding skills, including mapping, pioneering, first aid, and the Pravesh test, enhancing their practical knowledge and preparedness for future Scouting and Guiding activities.

🌟 INFORMATION CAMP FOR PRE-UNIVERSITY COLLEGE PRINCIPALS – TUMAKURU DISTRICT 🌟

Tumakuru District Association of Karnataka State Bharat Scouts and Guides organised an Information Camp for the Principals of Pre-University Colleges across Tumakuru District on 16 October 2026. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. A S Madhusudan, International Additional Commissioner (Scouts). The distinguished guests included Mrs. Radha Venkatesh, National Commissioner (Guides), and Mrs. Manjula, State Organising Commissioner (Guides).

The programme was presided over by Mrs. Radha, Deputy Director, Department of School Education (Pre-University). The event was graced by Mrs. Asha Prasanna Kumar, District Chief Commissioner; Mrs. Subhashini R. Kumar, District Commissioner (Guides); Mr. Surendra Shah, District Commissioner (Scouts); Mr. Anjanappa T. S., District Secretary; Mr. Nagendra Nagaraju, President of the District Principals’ Association; and Dr. Harish, Trustee of Ananya College. District Training Commissioners, District Organisers, and other dignitaries were also present.

Around 150 Principals of Pre-University Colleges participated in the programme, making it a significant step towards strengthening awareness and promoting the activities and objectives of The Bharat Scouts and Guides among pre-university educational institutions.

👏 The programme was successfully conducted with the active participation and cooperation of all the dignitaries and participants.

Denkanikottai District of the Tamil Nadu State Bharat Scouts and Guides conducted the Rajya Puraskar Test Camp from 15 to 17 October 2026 at the District Training Centre, Kundhukottai. A total of 125 Scouts and Guides, comprising 75 Scouts and 50 Guides, participated in the camp.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Y. N. Champak Kumar, LT(S), District Secretary, who motivated the participants to demonstrate their Scouting and Guiding skills, discipline, leadership qualities, and commitment to the Scout/Guide Promise and Law.

The Chief Examiners for the camp were Mr. K. Kalaiyarasan, ALT(S), for the Scout Wing, and Ms. I. Kanthi, ALT(G), for the Guide Wing. The Assistant District Secretary, Treasurer, Headquarters Commissioners, District Organising Commissioners (DOCs), and District Training Commissioners (DTCs) were also present and extended their support for the successful conduct of the camp.
