⛓️ SITTIN’ ON CHROME ⛓️

Celebrating 10 Years of @bside.gallery 🍾🥂💫

It feels simultaneously like yesterday and also a lifetime ago, when the lovely & talented @judy_rollingstone took me out for a beer in late 2016 and asked, “do you want this gallery?”

As a 26 year old who had just started @nfa.gallery with the intention of never having a permanent space, it went against the plans I’d had in mind, but the opportunity triumphed over all negative thoughts, and hey, I could always quit if it got too hard.

For the true sufferer, going in with the knowledge of the life of an arts worker, of course the pandemic wouldn’t affect this particular gallerist. In fact, that was some of the highest and steadiest pay cheque I’d received for the most part of my career at that point!

The gallery & studios of course would not have lasted without all of the exhibiting artists, studio tenants, local patronage & global support and recognition - to any and all who have ever worked, exhibited, purchased artwork from, partied here til dawn or simply walked through these doors, I eternally thank you, for you have made it possible for this humble space to keep operating.

I am welcoming back a handful of artists, along with some new faces, to exhibit their work carrying the theme of “liquid chrome” as an homage to the 10 strong years of B-SIDE Gallery.

Opening on Saturday 10th October 2026, SITTIN’ ON CHROME will run until Sunday 18th October 2026.

See you in the gallery x

- Ariana, B-SIDE Gallery Director
