26 years ago, I raised my hand and swore to defend this country. Then one year later, that oath took on a whole new weight. I’m grateful that I managed 27 months deployed without losing anyone under my responsibility. To all my brothers and sister in arms who did not make it back, we will never forget. by @bskrese

I don’t usually take time to reflect but this year being my 45th Birthday, I decided to take a minute. This time 5 years ago, I had decided to decline an amazing career opportunity in my Army career in favor of preparing for retirement two years later. I had no idea the crazy ride I was about to start with leaving a 20-year career in the early days of COVID and the entire world shutting down. But somehow, through many blessings, I ended up in an amazing new industry that I knew little to nothing about and with a wonderful company that makes me feel like I am a part of a team again. Today, I want to thank everyone who supported me these last 5 years - on my decision to decline command, my decision to retire, and my decision to jump into the unknown to pursue a new career in event production. I know I’m not the best at keeping in touch regularly but please know that I love you. And to my teammates at @weymouthwatson, thank you for taking a chance on me!! I look forward to the next 5 years (and more!). #soldierforlife #army #eventmanagement by @bskrese
