How have cuts in federal funding, the elimination of "diversity" initiatives, and the attacks on research related to equity, race, gender, sexual orientation, and many other topics, affected Black Studies and Black Scholars? What are the short and long-term research consequences across multiple disciplines? The second installation of the BSP Community Workshop Series will feature a panel of experts to discuss the impact of these policies on careers and entire fields, including the phenomenon referred to as "brain dead," i.e., scholars considering leaving the US or moving into other professions.

This panel will feature Apriel Hodari (Founder & Principal of STEMScholar Vice Chair on the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) Working Group 5: Women in Physics), Cory Gooding (Associate Professor, Political Science and International Relations, Director, Africana Studies, University of San Diego), Nohle Channon Mdziniso (Assistant Professor, School of Mathematics and Statistics College of Science, Rochester Institute of Technology), Danielle Clealand (Associate Professor, Department of Mexican American & Latina/o Studies (MALS), University of Texas, Austin). by @bsp.ucsd
