IDES421 visited @pdindy this afternoon to see how furniture was constructed to help with their projects.

This semester they were tasked with two furniture projects, one for children and the other to solve a problem. Thank you to Purposeful Design for having us and for letting us ask about our projects! taken in Purposeful Design by @bsuinteriordesign

Happy One Ball State Day! For this day of giving we hope you would consider giving to our program. This year @ballstatecap will donate $500 to the fund with the most new donors, so even if you cannot donate big, anything helps our students.

We would like to congratulate Lauren Cohn for being recognized as a Ball State University 2026 Top 100 Student. This means that Lauren exemplifies Beneficence both inside and outside of the classroom. Lauren is the President of the Interior Design Alliance and works as an assistant for our department, on top of being involved in two other organizations. What an outstanding achievement, Lauren!

Last week was our students annual Design Week. Students were tasked with creating a board game that is representative of the Interior Design and Landscape Architecture disciplines. Being guided by Senior Game Designer Loel Phelps of Maxis Studios, students learned about game mechanics, abstract design thinking, and problem solving.

The teams games were judged by faculty on Wednesday and played by their peers that night! It was a great opportunity to learn from other teams, have fun with design, and meet students of other disciplines! by @bsuinteriordesign
