These are two of the Quad cities finest wrestlers! My Uncle Simon Robert’s from Davenport who became the first black HS state champion in the state of Iowa then later on he became the first black NCAA champion wrestling for U of Iowa. My Pops was a 3X state finalist & state champion from Rock Island HS. The QC would later on produce Tim Wright 2X state champion from Rock Island & first ever 4X ncaa champion. Moline would provide 2X HS state champion Matt Lackey who was a 3X All American for U of Illinois placing 3rd, 2nd & 1st! by @btbedrock

I was watching an old wrestling finals match on YouTube & guess who I found on the big screen! It’s a screenshot of my old college’s current wrestling coach Jeremy Spates (SIUE)! He was a trusty assistant to head coach Rob Koll when they coached at Cornell. Both have moved on to direct other schools to succeed at the present time but had to share!🤗 by @btbedrock
