Chicago, IL emo music on @cylsrecords
“I’m So Afraid Of Where” out now ✨

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One year ago we released “I’m So Afraid of Where”.

Making this album was my life’s mission for such a long time. I remember writing the first songs in a basement in Springfield, Illinois in 2020 during the pandemic. I remember those songs following me through hard falling outs with good friends, through a move to a new city, through several major life events, through hours and hours of trying to make the album I always wanted to for this band.

I often think about everyone that’s devoted even a lick of time to this band over the years. All the people I hold dear, and all those that I don’t talk to anymore. I’m grateful for anyone that has given my musical ideas even a modicum of attention or interest.

To be frank, this band doesn’t look the same as it did even a few months ago, and for the first time in 9 years, I’m not sure what the next steps are. I’m trying to figure them out though, and we’ll keep rocking while I do.

Thank you so much for listening to this record over this past year, for hanging out at a show, for singing the words back to us. It means the world to me and always will.

-Mario

Special shoutouts to @cylsrecords for helping us see this record to its full potential; @floydaudio @andreimilo and @adam_cichocki for helping us make this sound so amazing; and to @kamila_ and @conofoto for beautiful work on the cover & layout (peep the original photo for the back cover, taken at Montrose Point in Chicago).

We are emerging from our evil cave to rock because we got asked by our friends in @swissarmywifeband to help celebrate their newest album (you should listen to it if you haven’t fr) at @erickas_house on JULY 24TH with the legends in @btmbrkt and @tenmonthsummerband

Also @god_dammit_garrett can’t rock with us but they did make the flyer and you should say good job

That also means the our good friend @irondon_music is doing fucked up stuff to bass guitar with us so everybody say yippee and hi to Ian
