“BEAT THE ODDS”

More than just a name, it’s a mindset. That mentality of no matter what’s thrown at me, I’ll find a way to overcome it and prove everybody wrong.

We’re built by people who relate with that, who have at some point beat the odds, did what everyone said they couldn’t do.

Our goal is to inspire and empower young people and allow them to keep defying those odds that are set against them.

We appreciate all the love and support and thank everyone who’s apart of this journey. This is just the start, many other things are in motion which will allow us to help even more people and provide them with opportunities to thrive.

“Knowledge is Power”

Sunday commenced the first BTO speaker series, we had very special guests Martin Wilkinson and his wife Elisha Wilkinson. They both spoke about very important topics, Martin took us through his journey and the challenges he faced throughout his life and how he overcame them to get to where he’s at today. Elisha spoke about the importance of education and how many doors it can open for you particularly for athletes. This insight was very valuable and showed us all different perspectives but how the same key principles like discipline and hard work apply no matter what you do.

This is just the start of the BTO speaker series and we will have many more guest speakers from all walks of lives come and share their stories and how they overcame the odds faced against them. Knowledge is power, learning from those who have been there before can help you avoid the same mistakes they made.

We want to give a huge thank you again to Martin and Elisha for coming down and speaking, and everyone who showed up to support us at the event. Our mission to help provide more opportunities for young people can’t be done alone it takes selfless people’s support which allows us to give back and help out and make it easier for the next generation.

If you’re interested in speaking in future events please reach out to us.

We’re proud to announce, in collaboration with London Legends, our Beat The Odds Speaker Series.

This is a new project we’re starting where guest speakers come in and speak to young people about their stories, the challenges they’ve faced, and how they overcame the odds against them.

This Sunday will be our first speaker series, featuring a very special surprise guest — a 2x World Champion Kickboxer with a long and impressive resume, who has overcome many challenges throughout his life.

The event is free and open to all young people, with no registration required. Food and refreshments will also be provided.

📍 Pod 2, Peckham Library, 122 Peckham Hill St, London, SE15 5JR, United Kingdom
🕐 1:15 - 2:30pm

We hope to see everyone come out and support our first event. Your support would go a long way in helping us build something powerful for the community. taken in Peckham, London by @bto_foundation

Big shout out to @lukebamgboye of @tcumbb for coming down and showing love at the BTO Elite runs.

Luke is an example of what we are about at Beat The Odds, time and time again throughout his career Luke has been doubted and has beat the criticism thrown at him and did what they said he couldn’t do and is continuing to.

Most of all Luke is an inspiration to all young hoopers in the UK that you can make it out and play at the highest level and change your life if you do the work and stay disciplined.

A really big year is incoming for Luke at @tcumbb and we all wish him well and will continue to support him on his journey as he continues to keep inspiring the next generation.
