Heavenly Father,

Memorial Day hits differently for those of who wore the uniform and stood beside men and women willing to give everything for this country. We carry memories of brothers and sisters in arms who answered the call without hesitation — some who made it home, and some who did not.

This weekend, we honor the fallen. The ones who traded their tomorrows for our freedoms. Their sacrifice was not abstract — it was personal. They were friends, warriors, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and parents. Their courage and commitment will never be forgotten.

Lord, be close to the Gold Star families and to every veteran carrying memories, grief, pride, and loss. Give us strength to live lives worthy of the sacrifices made by those we remember today.

Protect the men and women still serving around the world. Bring them home safely, and remind this nation to never take their service for granted.

And Father, help us as veterans continue to look out for one another — especially those silently fighting battles long after the war is over.

Today we remember.
Today we honor.
And today we give thanks for those who gave everything.

Amen.
