For the last 18 years, this game has been all I’ve ever known. From 6 a.m. workouts to late-night championship games, this game has shaped me into the man I am today. Countless memories, lifelong brothers, and life lessons I’ve learned along the way will forever stay with me. Baseball has always been more than a game to me, it helped me escape from many situations throughout life.
I’m forever grateful that God gave me the chance to play this game as long as I did. For the longest time, I found my identity within this sport, but over the past few years, I’ve learned I was wrong. My identity is found in the man who died on the cross for you and I.

To my parents: thank you for the endless support over the past 18 years—it never went unnoticed. Thank you for risking so much along the way. You always made sure I had a ball and glove in my hands and a ride to every game or practice.

To my siblings and family: thank you for always supporting me, even if that meant canceling important plans just to come watch me do what I love.

To my lifelong brothers: thank you for always pushing me to be better. Y’all saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself.

Lastly, thank you, baseball. ❤️ by @bubbawood.34
