We told everyone we were throwing a party for a tomato. And she stole the show indeed.

@zehrahmed immortalized the tomato at @bucatini and @barbandini ‘s wine selections brought it all together. Never has an ending felt so sweet - til next year 🍅.

Food designer @zehrahmed says “without fail, they [seasons] are back every year as a reminder of where you are - seasons in California announce themselves in color, not temperature.” In this case the tomato, in all her colors, as both medium and muse. It’s peak tomato season’s last stand before the fall palette enters the chat.

Our once back-entrance-only pantry shop turns 6 today and it feels like a dream. Time has moved so fast over the last few years — so fast, it’s easy to forget to stop and reflect. Today we see how far we’ve come, how much we have grown. We are so proud of our little shop and the home it has shaped into since first opening August 12, 2020.

The beginning was full of wire racks and cinder blocks, one antique window, the most beautiful afternoon light, and hundreds of boxes. All of those elements still exist (especially the boxes), but it feels like what started has only expanded, and because of you. With your love over the last 6 years, you have given Bucatini its warmth and aura. You have contributed to the patina that makes it a home, not just a space.

To thank you, and to celebrate our 2020 birth year, we are gifting 20% off storewide for the day with the code “BIRTHDAY”. Happy birthday to us, but also to you.
