Today you would’ve been 74 years old, and I find myself thinking about you more than ever.

There was a day of tragedy that changed our family forever, and losing you was one of the most painful experiences of my life. But today, I don’t want to give that tragedy the spotlight.

Your strength.

The memories you left behind.
And the woman you were before that terrible day ever happened.

A Few years have passed since you left this world, and somehow it still feels like yesterday. There are some people you meet in life who become family, and then there are people who become a part of your soul. You were that for me, bro.

You came into my life during one of the hardest chapters of mine. When I was a teenager and had nowhere to turn, your mom opened her home and took me in like I was her own son. She gave me a place to belong when I needed it most, and through you, I gained a family that I will forever be grateful for.

And the beautiful thing is, even after you left this world, you STILL found a way to take care of me.

Your wife opened her home to me when I came home from prison and needed somewhere to parole to. She took me in, helped me get back on my feet, and stood by me for an entire year until my wife came out and we were able to get our own place.

That kind of love is something I will never forget.

And I want you to know, Riccy… I’m still here.

I’m still making sure your son knows who his daddy was. I’m still checking on your wife. I’m still looking out for your family. Not because I have to, but because you are my brother, and that is what family does.

I wish you could see the man I’ve become. I wish you could see everything I’m building, everything I’m fighting for, and how hard I’m trying to make something meaningful out of this life.

Most of all, I wish you could be here to watch your son grow.

But I know you’re watching over us.

So today, I’m not only mourning you. I’m celebrating you. Celebrating your life, our memories, the laughter, the brotherhood, and every moment God allowed us to share.

BRING BACK THE D BOY ERA. 🏁🌴

Say what y’all want, but the late ’80s and ’90s had a STYLE that was uniquely SoCal. The D Boy look, the oversized fits, crisp khakis, Pendletons, flannels, Dickies, Cortez, Nike, Raiders gear, gold ropes… that shit had an identity. 🔥

That era helped shape the look and aesthetic that people STILL associate with Southern California street culture today. It wasn’t just clothes—it was a whole presence. The way you walked, the way you carried yourself, the music, the cars, the lowriders, the neighborhood pride… THE CULTURE WAS DIFFERENT.

And honestly? I need to see that shit come bacc. 😂

Two Years ago today, I walked out of prison after serving 7 years.

Some people only see the time I lost. I choose to see everything I gained.

Those Seven Years forced me to face myself in ways I never had before. They taught me patience, discipline, gratitude, and the value of freedom. They taught me that every decision matters and that no matter how far you’ve fallen, your story isn’t over unless you decide it is.

These last 2 years haven’t been perfect. Rebuilding your life isn’t easy. There have been setbaxx, doubts, and obstacles. But there have also been victories, growth, and opportunities I once thought I’d never have.

Today, I’m grateful. Grateful for every person who believed in me. Grateful for every lesson. Grateful to wake up free, chase my dreams, spend time with my family, create music, and continue building a life I’m proud of.

To anyone who feels like their past defines them, it doesn’t. Your past may explain you, but it doesn’t have to determine your future. Keep pushing. Keep growing. Keep believing that tomorrow can be better than today.

Here’s to TWO YEARS OF FREEDOM‼️... and to making the rest of my life count even more than the years I lost.
