A rare face post for my art page…. But a worthy one… over 20 years of love for this women…. I would have never thought that after meeting on that first day of uni.,.. the 500 words then a glass of wine and a roly late night moments… the parties… the tears…. the bubbas and the adventures… that my doodles would appear in her book…. She was always destined for great things…. And this book is truly a great thing!

RETREAT KITCHEN IS HERE!!!!!

Gosh, even just typing that feels quite something. I’ve spent so long creating this book and have put all my bits and bobs in to it as well as extra sprinkles and a profusion of gubbins.

From my modest self published book I wrote with @matt_inwood in 2017 to a handful of photoshoots we did in between time with a view to something more being on its way, to my proposal, my wonderful agent and a book deal from @eleanor_maxfield @quartobooksuk that I still can’t quite believe I got. To now having pooled a glorious team of creatives with @clairehrochford on book design as well as bringing @buce_multimedia_art illustrations together for this magical front cover.

So now it’s up to you all to pre order, ready for its publication on February 4th 2027. All those who I’ve fed whether on retreat or at a supper club, whether I’ve overshared my love for turnips with you on a train, talked about beans in a festival field or sparked a conversation in a national trust garden over the painful beauty of nature. This book is for you to share, to inspire and to cover in greasy kitchen smears.

There is much more to share with you over the coming weeks including events, competitions and of course, me weeping whilst I unwrap the first hard copy of the book some time next month. So watch this space 😌

Cotton rag paper from @artwayltd with home made turmeric paint, and Indian ink applied with bamboo ink pens.

It’s been one of the greatest honours of my life to illustrate this book…

Summer art making involves getting messy and going back to process lead chaos that’s accessible for my tiny humans and means I don’t have to worry about trying to look cool or accomplished 🩷 by @buce_multimedia_art
