Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change — all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money. taken in USA by @bud91120

La leçon américaine vaut pour nous en France et en Europe : la prise du pouvoir par l’extrême droite n’est jamais une alternance classique, c’est toujours une contre-révolution brutale.

Carter G. Woodson created what was originally called Negro History Week in February 1926 as a focused, national observance to promote the study of Black history in schools and public life. He intentionally chose the second week of February to align with long‑standing Black community celebrations of the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (Feb. 12) and Frederick Douglass (traditionally observed Feb. 14), building on those traditions rather than inventing a completely new one.

Woodson saw the week not as a token celebration, but as a way to highlight and deepen year‑round study of African American history, shifting attention from “great men” alone to the achievements of the broader Black community. Over the decades, Negro History Week expanded in practice, and in 1976 it was formally extended into what is now Black History Month each February, marking the evolution of Woodson’s original initiative into a month‑long national commemoration. taken in USA by @bud91120

BREAKING: Trump, Putin and the MAGA Republicans are reportedly in a panic after a Russian data center was hit by a Ukrainian drone and bot traffic plummeted. Now Republicans can’t use the Russian bots to spread their propaganda.

Zelenskyy didn’t care for Trump’s games. He’s going straight for Russia’s oil refineries and bot centers. You gotta love it.

Former Vice President Mike Pence criticized President Donald Trump’s decision to ease sanctions on Russian energy, arguing that the move could help fund Russia’s war in Ukraine. Pence also invoked the late Senator Lindsey Graham’s push for tougher sanctions and urged Trump to reverse the decision. by @bud91120

America is fighting Iran. Russia has supported Iran. Now Trump is opening the door to Russian diesel sales to ease the energy costs of that war.

How the hell is this supposed to make strategic sense?

On October 9, Trump announced a deal for Russia to supply diesel to American and global markets, accompanied by temporary sanctions relief. Reuters has also reported Russian targeting and technical support for Iran during the conflict.

That creates a serious contradiction: Washington is confronting Iran while offering an economic opening to a government helping it.

The announcement does not establish that American payments have already financed attacks on U.S. forces. But Americans should demand an explanation of how the administration weighed that risk against its promised fuel savings.

Lower prices matter. So does ensuring that efforts to lower them do not strengthen governments working against American interests.

What safeguards exist? What did Putin concede? And how much relief will consumers actually see?

A fuel deal deserves more scrutiny than a celebratory announcement.

Does this look like smart diplomacy—or a costly attempt to manage the consequences of another decision? by @bud91120

More signs of fascism:

The mad king redirected $52 million in Congressionally allocated military aid from Ukraine and other European allies to authoritarian and right-leaning countries in Latin America.

The mad king diverted at least $67 million from national-park entrance fees to help fund his pet projects in DC.

The mad king withheld $1.4 billion that Congress had approved for research at the National Science Foundation.

HHS Secretary and carcass-eater RFK JR diverted $12 million from his department’s Office of Minority Health to pay for more security for himself.

Ignoring Congress is one of the many signs of fascism from this regime.
So is subverting and attacking science.
