🇬🇧 Exploring London on a budget 🇬🇧

You don’t always need to break the bank to have a great day out in London? There are plenty of ways to enjoy the city without spending a fortune, and you are more likely to find some hidden gems such as the Leake Street Tunnel.

Here are some tips for a budget-friendly day out in London-

1️⃣ Start your day with a stroll through one of London’s beautiful parks, like Hyde Park or Regent’s Park. Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy in the sunshine. Beware of ice creams that can cost over a fiver each, especially if you have multiple kids.

2️⃣ Visit one of London’s many free museums, such as the British Museum or the Tate Modern. You’ll get a dose of culture without spending a penny. You need to book to avoid the queue but it’s free.

3️⃣ Take a walk along the South Bank of the Thames and admire the views of the city skyline. You can also catch street performers and browse the markets for unique souvenirs and books.

4️⃣ Eat at one of London’s many street food markets, like Borough Market or Camden Market. You’ll find delicious and affordable options from all around the world. My balance before this months payment of £182 was £4137, and now the balance is this???

The reason I don’t just pay it off!?

There’s no interest, so if I had £83.16 to spare it would go straight to my loan. I leave this ticking over in the background as part of my phone bill. There’s 3 more months left, so by the end of the contract, this will be paid off and I can switch to a sim only deal 🙌🏽 taken in United Kingdom by @budgetlove_

Just £32.97 worth of pointless subscriptions.

Much more like it with a 4% bank loan, I will never do car finance again!

When I first added up my debt totals, I never included my car finance. Maybe I was in denial. During a challenging time in my life, I wasn’t paying attention and agreed to take out the finance. It cost me £220 every month, and the expensive tax, insurance and petrol on top. Then lock down happened. The car was just sat there for weeks on end. At some point around 2021 it started making a very loud noise, it sounded expensive and that was it for me. So I took it to WeBuyAnyCar.com 🤣
I still had a lot of finance outstanding and the offer price wasn’t enough to clear the finance, but they don’t make partial finance payments. So had to take the offer, pay them the balance on my credit card in order for them to clear the finance and leave it at that!
It was nerve wracking but I felt free afterwards and the additional monthly spare money went to debt much more rapidly.
Now we’re at 2024, and I’ve just found out it included Discretionary Commission! taken in London, United Kingdom by @budgetlove_
