My first post of the year: I defended my dissertation today. Tavis Mansfield, PhD 🖤Your friend is now is apart of the deep history of Black folks who looked at our planet as a landscape to learn from. So grateful for my friends and classmates who allowed me to vent when I was being tested by professors. I’m hoping I can build more bridges for Black and Brown folks to get into the environmental space. Nothing is done for me alone. The journey continues… by @bueno_tav

It’s me again. Trying to be evidence of a life lived, blooming from youth and immaturity (not quite there yet) but I’m changing. Ain’t it a shame how hindsight works, you talk about the future then it comes and now you crave the past. No lover will give me the peace I’ve curated , no dream will float over my contentment for the present. Im laying in this bed smelling like a human onion lol but damn I’m still above ground. When I say I’ve been living for me recently, I mean I’ve been reading more, I’ve been loving harder , I’ve been only telling the truth about my feelings, I’m letting my body be how it is. I thinking maturing is acknowledging both you are the creator of your joy and possibly your own misery. by @bueno_tav

You really have to give life shape. It’s like you are handed different people, situations and feelings, you could fall apart or lean into the changes. Some of us aren’t given a fair hand but I think nothing happens accidentally. Love you. - T.C by @bueno_tav
