Q: How do I prepare for my spray tan?

A: Shower, shave, and exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment. REALLY scrub your skin to create a smooth canvas. Do not use Dove products before your tan, they will turn your tan green. No, I ain’t lyin’. Avoid applying lotion, deodorant, or makeup right before your tan, as these can create a barrier. I do have makeup wipes and pH balancing spray if you’re in a pinch and need to remove your makeup before your tan.

So you just got a spray tan, now what?
1. Wait the recommended development time (regular 8–12 hours, rapid tan 2-4 hours)
2. Don’t get wet or sweat while you’re developing
3. First rinse: quick, cool water rinse— just use your hands, no soap. Rinse until the water runs clear.
4. Gently pat dry with a towel
*Note* your tan will continue to develop after you’ve rinsed - so if it feels a little lighter than desired, give it time. taken in Highmark Stadium by @buffaglow_spraytan

💧 Daily Care
1. Moisturize twice a day with a tan-safe, oil-free lotion to keep skin hydrated. I love Aveeno.
2. Avoid harsh body washes—stick with sulfate-free, gentle cleansers.
3. Skip super hot showers & baths, which can dry out skin and fade color faster.

🙅‍♀️ Things to Avoid
1. Exfoliating, shaving, or waxing too soon.
2. Chlorine pools, hot tubs, and saunas—they strip tans quickly. But the sweat resistant formula will help with this a little.
