I circle my personal cryptic & I leave for college tomorrow I feel full when I’ve emptied myself of thoughts & gifts & prayers Here are some stairs & memories I’ve been walking on recently: In my dream last night I told my cousin Lucy I was going to die soon and she hugged me on tightly on my porch I sing a false ballad of codependency with my dog Junia because she’ll be much less affected when I leave for college After one of the best performances of my life in front of a group of 100 students; someone came up and gave me this dragon. They said I had touched them deeply and they needed to return the favor somehow Last time I was there a little girl was crying in her car seat Sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it I was a homebirth in a house protected by this tree. I won’t be there every day this fall to see its leaves I’ll try to use my voice And I’ll try really hard to use my ears Always & forever I sat next to my mom in this theatre and cried thinking of her I remember your smile And the way you sang it to me So many times in other forms on distant lands Self-portrait from freshman year of high school when I got married to the idea of erasing myself Evils’ reach is unguessable and long So burn what you know in a dvd I forgive myself! by @bug.jhc
