One year ago today I witnessed the greatest World Cup final in history. I went to every game the Argentina national team played and saw history be made. I still can’t believe I was there. The whole month was magical and I’ll forever be changed and grateful I was able to do it. There has only been one other place in the world that really saddened me to leave. Sitting at the airport now looking at photos and a part of me is dreading getting on, I am dragging my feet. I wish I had a little more time. Weather did not permit the shark dive or do the real hike I planned to do and I missed the lions but this country had so much more to offer than I’ve ever imagined. It is probably my favorite place I’ve ever been. Don’t listen to anyone telling you it’s dangerous or what ever, I came here with no expectations and this place is nothing short of magical. If Hawaii, SoCal, Rio and Colorado had a baby it would be Capetown. It truly is hard to explain it all but it is a land of milk and honey, it has everything I love. The nature, food, and people are amazing. I experienced the best of all of it here, I was truly blown away. We came here chasing a unicorn that might not exist but made the best of it, maybe it’s out there somewhere. I hope life brings me back here soon. Hit the ground running for 2023, shot out of a cannon like a bat out hell and no stopping in sight. Setting the bar higher this year to see how far we can really push this manifestation thing. Some people go to Mecca some go to Rome to see the Vatican some to Jerusalem. I took a pilgrimage to Qatar to watch Messi lift the cup, I don’t have the words what this experience has meant to me but it has been the closest thing to a religious experience that I’ve ever had. I don’t think I will ever be the same again. I’ve heard and read about the Cup being a spiritual experience but I never in a million years thought it would be me. There were so many signs and coincidences, again I can not explain them all.

I was on my way to get my bags and leave after a desert excursion and some thing inside me told me to stay. I was in a bit of a dark place before I left, I was getting burnt out at work and just witnessed an awful tragedy. I left to Qatar with the intention of coming back changed. I felt defeated on the way to pick up my bags. When I told my desert tour guide I wanted to stay , he gave me the number of a man he met while pumping gas that had semi finals tickets for sale and I changed my flight right then and there. That’s how I met @vaquereando One game turned into another and I got into the grove of things an leaned into the experience hard.

Just as those young men left everything on the field I gave Doha all I got. Lived the best, absolute best I could possibly live. I met some amazing people I will never forget and hopefully cultivate these relationships for years to come. I’m coming home rejuvenated and recharged, I was forgetting who I was. This was the best thing I could have done for myself. I am so grateful to have been able to do this and share with some amazing people. I hope this feeling of gratitude never goes away and stay grateful for what I have. Thanks everyone for the kind messages those who know me well know how important this was for me. I was telling my new friends about the area I live in and obviously we talked about soccer ect. I told them how Alexi Lalas was a regular of mine who would come in and sit at the bar I used to work at with his wife. I’ve been out here for almost a month I randomly shot him a text and sent him a picture of me at the last game. He responds “enjoy” 3 hours later I randomly, completely randomly run into him at the restaurant we had dinner at. This trip has been un real and the universe keeps listening.
