Alright, let me properly reintroduce myself to everyone here, old faces and new ones both 🩷

Hi, I'm Emma šŸ‘‹šŸ¼

My path here wasn't the traditional one. I finished school and went straight into waitressing, no college, no university, none of that. Just needed to work.

Eventually I landed an internship at a good firm, took a handful of online courses on the side to actually be useful there, and it turned into a real position. I stayed almost ten years.

I didn't hate that job, for the record. It just never fully felt like mine. Every bit of security I had was tied to a company that owed me nothing beyond a paycheck.

So four years ago I quit. Slowly built something of my own instead, one decision at a time, most of it figured out after the fact rather than planned in advance.

A few random Emma facts, since we're doing introductions:

🐈 Cat mom to Simba, my one and only roommate and unofficial editor
ā˜• Coffee is non-negotiable, every single morning
ā™ˆ Aries, jump in before I feel ready, works out more often than it should
šŸŽ¬ I'll watch anything from comedy to horror to a ridiculous rom-com to wildlife documentaries, genuinely no consistency to my taste
šŸ³ I love cooking, but I will never come close to my mom's cooking, not even on my best day
šŸ• Pizza is basically a food group in this house, no shame
šŸ  Solo living and very content with the quiet of it

Basically I'm proof you don't need a specific path to end up somewhere good. Just a lot of small decisions and the willingness to quietly figure it out.

If that sounds like where you're headed too, I'd love for you to follow along.

šŸ‘‡ Comment HELLO and tell me one thing about you, because if I'm introducing myself, I want to know you too.

My most ā€œvaluableā€ post was the one nobody remembered. 🫠

It had everything.

Tips.

A story.

A checklist.

A bonus thought.

I was so proud of how much I fit in.

Then I tried to sum it up in one sentence.

Nothing.

Not one clean line.

That’s when I understood the problem.

I wasn’t giving people more.

I was giving them too many places to look.

A post with five ideas doesn’t leave anyone with five takeaways.

It leaves them with none.

So I stopped asking ā€œwhat else can I add?ā€

I started asking ā€œwhat is this post actually about?ā€

One idea.

Everything else either supports it or goes.

There’s one decision I make before I write anything now.

It’s what keeps the post tight, and it’s the reason people finally remember what I said. šŸ’›

šŸ‘‡ Comment ONELINE and I’ll show you the first thing I choose before I build the rest of the post.

Nothing makes a conversation go quiet faster than being chased. šŸŽƒ

I was good at the follow-up.

The gentle nudge.

The ā€œjust checking in!ā€

The perfectly timed reminder.

And the replies kept getting shorter.

Then one person finally told me the truth.

She said it felt like being followed down a dark hallway.

Nice, polite, friendly.

But still following.

That one stuck with me.

I thought I was helping.

I was actually pushing.

Selling is steering someone toward your yes.

Helping someone decide is something else.

It’s switching on a flashlight so they can see the whole hallway.

What it costs.

What it won’t do.

Who it’s actually for.

Even if the answer is no.

Because a clear no is still a decision.

And people who feel clear don’t ghost you.

They tell you where they stand.

So now I ask more and push less.

Fewer jump scares.

More light. šŸ”¦

And the people who say yes? They actually mean it. šŸ‘»

šŸ‘‡ Comment FLASHLIGHT and I’ll share the question I ask now instead of ā€œjust checking in.ā€

Everyone saved it. Nobody did a single thing with it. šŸŽƒ

I poured everything into that post.

Every step.

Every tip.

Every little secret.

The comments rolled in.

ā€œSo helpful!ā€

ā€œSaving this!ā€

ā€œNeeded this today!ā€

I felt like a genius.

Then the week went by.

No DMs.

No questions.

No one asking what to do next.

It was like a ghost town after a party.

Full of people who’d come and gone.

Here’s what I finally understood.

When you give someone the whole answer in one post, they feel finished.

They nod.

They save it.

And then it sits in a folder next to 400 other saved posts, never to be opened again.

I’d made a buffet.

Everyone left full.

Nobody needed to come back to the table.

Helping someone isn’t the same as giving them everything at once.

Sometimes the most useful thing is one clear step, and a reason to ask what comes after it.

So now I teach less per post.

One idea.

One next move.

And fewer saves, honestly.

But way more people actually raising their hand. šŸ‘»

šŸ‘‡ Comment BUFFET and I’ll show you how I decide what to leave out of a post.

ā€œIt’s too expensiveā€ is the best costume in sales. šŸŽƒ

It sounds so reasonable.

So polite.

So final.

For a long time I took it at face value.

Price too high.

Must lower it.

Must add more bonuses.

Must justify every dollar.

Then I found out the same person had just bought something that cost three times as much.

Somewhere else.

From someone else.

That’s when I realized it was never really about the number.

It was a mask.

Underneath it, there was something she couldn’t say out loud.

ā€œWhat if this doesn’t work for me?ā€

ā€œWhat if I waste it like last time?ā€

ā€œDo I even trust you yet?ā€

Those are way harder to admit than ā€œit’s too much.ā€

So price becomes the easy excuse.

And I was spending all my energy on the costume instead of whatever was underneath.

Now when I hear it, I don’t defend the price.

I get curious.

I ask what would need to be true for this to feel like a clear yes.

Half the time the real answer has nothing to do with money.

And that’s the conversation that actually moves things forward. šŸ‘»

šŸ‘‡ Comment MASK and I’ll show you the exact question I ask when someone says it’s too expensive.

Every new offer I added felt like progress. It was actually a haunting. šŸŽƒ

A new product here.

A new service there.

A ā€œsure, I can do that tooā€ for anyone who asked.

It felt generous.

It felt smart.

It felt like more chances to get paid.

Then someone landed on my page and I couldn’t explain what I did in one sentence.

Neither could they.

That’s the scary part.

A closet full of offers looks like abundance from the inside.

From the outside, it looks like a haunted house.

Too many doors.

No idea which one to open.

And people don’t pick the door they have to think about.

They walk away.

So I did something that felt terrifying.

I made a list of everything I offered.

Then I crossed things off.

Not because they were bad.

Because they weren’t what I wanted to be known for.

My page got quieter.

Then it got clearer.

One thing.

One person.

One reason to say yes.

Saying no to the extra stuff didn’t shrink my business.

It finally gave people something they could actually say yes to. šŸ‘»

šŸ‘‡ Comment CROSSOFF and I’ll tell you the one question I ask before adding anything new to my offers.

Nothing scarier than a ā€œLAST CHANCE!!!ā€ post from someone you actually know. šŸŽƒ

I tried it once.

Countdown energy.

ā€œOnly a few spots left!ā€

ā€œDon’t miss out!ā€

Except there were plenty of spots.

And I knew it.

Somehow, everyone else did too.

That’s the thing about a small account.

People aren’t strangers.

They’re watching you closely.

They remember what you said last week.

So when the urgency isn’t real, it shows.

It felt like a cheap jump scare.

Loud.

Sudden.

And forgotten five seconds later.

Worse, it made the next post harder.

Because now they were wondering if that one was fake too.

Big brands can get away with it.

Nobody has a relationship with a department store.

But people follow you because they trust you.

And trust is the only thing you can’t restock.

So now I only say ā€œlast chanceā€ when it’s actually the last chance.

Real deadlines.

Real reasons.

And if there isn’t one, I don’t invent it.

Slower, sure.

But the people who buy are actually the ones who wanted to. šŸ‘»

šŸ‘‡ Comment REALDEADLINE and I’ll show you how I create genuine urgency without sounding like a used-car ad.

The scariest part of building something isn’t the big failure. šŸŽƒ

It’s the silence.

I always figured I’d quit after something dramatic.

A flop.

A rude comment.

A month with zero sales.

That’s not what almost got me.

It was the boring weeks.

No wins.

No disasters.

Just the same Tuesday, over and over.

Post.

Check.

Nothing.

Post.

Check.

Nothing.

Fear wakes you up.

It makes your heart race and gives you something to fight.

Boredom does the opposite.

It creeps in slowly, like fog in a horror movie.

You don’t notice it’s there until you can’t see the way back.

That’s when ā€œmaybe I’ll take a breakā€ starts sounding reasonable.

And ā€œa breakā€ quietly turns into never.

So now I plan for the boring weeks the way I’d plan for a storm.

Something small to look forward to.

A tiny change to test.

A reason to open the app that isn’t just ā€œdid anything happen.ā€

The people who last aren’t the ones who never get bored.

They’re the ones who keep walking through the fog anyway. šŸ‘»

šŸ‘‡ Comment FOG and I’ll send you what I do to get through the weeks where nothing happens.

The scariest sentence I ever said out loud: ā€œI’ll start when things calm down.ā€ šŸŽƒ

Sounds so reasonable, right?

Wait for a quieter week.

A cleaner schedule.

A less chaotic month.

Then I’d finally begin.

Here’s what actually happened.

The quiet week never showed up.

A new busy week took its place.

Then another one.

Then another one after that.

Calm isn’t a destination.

It’s a ghost story we tell ourselves.

Always just around the corner.

Never actually arriving.

And while I waited for it?

Nothing moved.

Meanwhile the people I admired were building in the middle of the mess.

Tired.

Busy.

Behind on laundry.

Doing it anyway.

That’s what finally got me.

They weren’t calmer than me.

They just stopped waiting for permission from their own calendar.

So now I start messy.

Ten minutes on a chaotic day.

One post instead of five.

A little progress instead of a perfect plan.

Way less terrifying than another month of ā€œsomeday.ā€ šŸ‘»

šŸ‘‡ Comment NEVERCALM and I’ll send you the 10-minute version I use when life is anything but calm.

I was haunted by someone else’s highlight reel. šŸ‘»

Every time I opened the app.

There they were.

Clean feed.

Steady sales.

Posts that looked like they never struggled once.

And I’d think.

Why does this look so easy for them?

Why am I still stuck?

Then I did the math.

I was looking at their third year.

I was standing in my first month.

Of course it felt scary.

I was comparing the beginning of my story to the middle of theirs.

They had years of flops I never saw.

Bad posts.

Quiet weeks.

Moments they almost quit.

All deleted.

All buried.

A ghost of a story that only shows the survivor.

That’s the trap.

You’re never comparing yourself to a person.

You’re comparing yourself to an edited version of their best moments.

So now when I catch myself spiraling, I ask one question.

Where were they in their first month?

Almost always, it looks a lot like mine. šŸŽƒ

šŸ‘‡ Comment FIRSTMONTH and I’ll show you the exact check I use to stop a comparison spiral.

Nobody warns you how haunting "just be yourself" is. šŸ‘»

Sounds simple.

Sounds kind.

Then you sit down to post.

And you realize you have no idea which version of yourself they mean.

The tired one?

The funny one?

The one who rewrites every caption five times?

The one who'd rather hide under a blanket with a horror movie?

I'm all of them.

Posting all of them at once is chaos.

It's like opening a haunted house and hoping nobody screams.

So I stopped asking "how do I just be me."

I started asking "which part of me does this person need right now."

Someone stuck on their first sale doesn't need my 2am overthinking spiral.

They need the version of me who figured out what to do next.

Same person.

Different part of the story.

That's what makes it feel real, not fake.

You're not hiding anything.

You're choosing which door to open first. šŸŽƒ

šŸ‘‡ Comment WHICHME and I'll show you the 3 questions I ask before deciding which version shows up in a post.
