We didn’t buy 25 acres just to build a house. We bought it to build a dream. 🌳🏡

A place where our kids can run wild, ride bikes down country lanes, and grow up surrounded by nature. Where neighbors become friends, gardens flourish, and life moves just a little slower.

Our vision? To transform this farmland into a little historic-inspired neighborhood, complete with timeless homes, hobby farms, beautiful landscaping, and a few unexpected projects along the way. (Like turning an old fuel tank into a hobbit house! 😂)

As a builder and designer, we’ve spent years bringing other people’s dreams to life. Now we’re getting to create something pretty special for our own family.

It’s going to take years, a whole lot of hard work, and probably a few crazy ideas. But we can’t wait to share every step of the journey.

So stick around. We’re just getting started. ❤️

$654,106 into this dream—and we haven’t broken ground on a house yet. 😅

You’ve asked what it’s costing to turn 25 acres of farmland into our little four-home neighborhood, so we’re opening up the numbers. From the land itself to water rights, power, and a road, there’s a lot that happens before the first foundation.

But what we’re most excited about is what comes after: historic-inspired homes, a shared orchard, kids riding bikes between neighbors, and a place where family and community are part of everyday life.

If you’ve ever dreamed of creating something like this, come follow along. We’re sharing what it takes, what we learn, and all the projects that will make this place feel like home. 🌳

An old metal tank, a little imagination, and a childhood we hope they’ll never forget. 🤎

Watching this become a hobbit house for our kids has been pretty special. Hopefully, years from now, they’ll remember the adventures they had inside—and that we built it together.

Would you have seen the possibility in this old tank?

Follow along as we keep bringing our little neighborhood on Orchard Avenue to life.

An old metal tank, a little imagination, and a childhood we hope our kids never forget. 🌿

The hobbit house got its stain and paint, and it’s starting to feel like a doorway into another world. We saved the door color reveal for the end… 👀

Did we pick the right color? Tell us below! 👇 Follow along as we turn this old tank into a little piece of the Shire for our kids.

We finally planted the beginning of the orchard on Orchard Avenue. 🌳🍎

This weekend, we put 20 fruit trees in the ground on our 25 acres. They may look small right now, but we can already imagine what this place could become.

One day, we hope these trees will grow into a community orchard—a place where families can wander, pick fruit, slow down, and make memories together. And we hope that someday, you’ll be able to come enjoy it with us. 🤍

For now, we’re bringing the vision to life one tree at a time.

From a giant rusty fuel tank to the beginnings of a real-life hobbit house! 🌿🏡

When we bought 25 acres to create our dream little community, we knew we wanted to build something magical for the kids.

And apparently, that meant burying a giant metal tank in the ground and figuring out how to turn it into something straight out of the Shire. 😂

This week, we finally started bringing the exterior to life, and it’s amazing what a little wood can do!

There’s still a LOT to do, but it’s finally starting to look like the hobbit house we’ve been imagining!

What do you think of the transformation so far?! 👇

Some of the most beautiful things we brought home from Tonga weren’t things we bought. They were memories we made. ❤️🇹🇴

While working on our island resort project, our kids had the opportunity to learn the art of traditional wood carving from some incredibly talented Tongan craftsmen.

These men didn’t just share their skills. They shared their time, their stories, and a little piece of their culture with our family.

And the beautiful carvings they created together? Those will always be treasures. But the friendships and memories behind them are worth so much more.

We came to Tonga to help build something beautiful. We never imagined how much this experience would build in us along the way.

Because sometimes the most meaningful things we build aren’t buildings at all. ❤️

Sometimes the simplest moments remind us why we started this dream in the first place. ❤️

A little boy riding his bike down a quiet country lane. No traffic. No rush. Just fresh air, wide open spaces, and the freedom to be a kid.

When we bought these 25 acres, we had a dream that went far beyond building houses.

We wanted to create a place where our kids could roam, explore, get dirty, and grow up surrounded by nature. A place where childhood feels a little more like it used to.

But we also dreamed of sharing that feeling with other families.

So we set out to turn this land into a small, historic-inspired micro farm community. A handful of beautiful, timeless homes nestled among gardens, trees, and open spaces. A place where neighbors become friends, kids grow up together, and life moves just a little slower.

We want every home to feel like it’s been here for generations, and every family to feel like they belong.

There’s still so much work ahead of us, but watching our son ride his bike down this lane makes me realize that, in some ways, we’re already living the dream.

Because at the end of the day, we’re not just building houses. We’re building a place to call home. ❤️

We’re Morgan and Ashlin—and we’re not your typical builder and designer.

This year, we packed up our family, moved to Tonga for four months, and helped renovate an island resort for @thebucketlistfamily

And the best part? We do it all with our kids by our side.

When we’re home, we build historic-inspired homes, dream up our own future home, and keep checking projects off our building bucket list.

Right now? A Hobbit house for the kids.

Follow along as we build our bucket list—one project at a time.
