The largest and most famous warship built by the Ottoman Empire is the *Mahmudiye* ship of the line, launched at the Imperial Shipyard (*Tersane-i Amire*) in 1829.

The standout features of this colossal vessel, which held the title of the world’s largest sailing warship for many years, were:

* Dimension: 76.15 mt. long, 21.22 mt wide Weight: 1,280 tons.
* Armament: 3 gun decks with 128 cannons
* Capacity: 1,000 sailors and soldiers.

Launched in Istanbul in 1829, the ship held the title of the world’s largest warship until the French warship *Valmy* was built in 1847. 1/33 model is in Istanbul Maritime Museum. by @bulentcollection

Friday afternoon a long walk around Luxembourg Grund area. The Grund is a picturesque, historic district located in theAlzette River valley in central Luxembourg City. Often called “a village within a city,” it is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its quiet, bohemian atmosphere, cobblestone streets, and 14th-century architecture. The “Emaischen” is a traditional folk festival in Luxembourg, which is celebrated on Easter weekend annually, since 1957, in the village of Nospelt . highlight is the market on Easter Monday. The stars of the “Emaischen” are the “Péckvillercher”, little bird-shaped whistles made out of clay. The charming birds come in different shapes and sizes and are especially popular among children and collectors.

In Nospelt, visitors can watch the potters at work. Beside handmade “Péckvillercher” and stands with a variety of pottery goods, there are also various concerts, workshops and exhibitions. The two museums of the village (the pottery museum and the archeological museum) are open during the event.
