Woooooo! I did it! If I've said it once I will say it again, I freaking love this community and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate my first year of dancing at @writhepole 💕 I honestly feel so proud of myself for doing something so outside of my comfort zone. There were definitely moments where I couldn't hear the music but just ran with it 🤣

@elisabeth_writhe was the person who gave me the space to show up as myself with zero expectations.

@polefaerie was one of the people who first showed me how strong I actually am.

And honestly there are not enough words to describe the impact @juicetriespole has had on my journey 😭

I started pole as a way to work through the fact that growing up I was taught to be ashamed of myself and my body and that my sole purpose in life was to be a wife and mother.

Instead I ended up finding so much more than I could have ever expected. An extra special shout-out to my husband for being so supportive giving me the push to sign up when I needed it ❤️ by @bumble.bree.reads

September significantly made up for August when it came to books. Most of my favorite books I have read this year are from the past month and I am not mad about it. Please just don't ask me to pick a favorite.

The overall theme I found of my favorites was anything that highlighted strong, intelligent, and take no shit type of FMCs.

I still have *checks Storygraph* 8 books I am currently reading 😳 I do plan on finishing most of them this coming month but honestly, October is going to be really rough in essentially every aspect of my life. I am going to try very hard not to put any additional pressure of "I have to do..." on myself. My goal this month is literally just to get through it with my mental health mostly intact. I'll read what I read and honestly just hope for the best 🙃

I am so sorry to everyone who told me to read this and then had to watch me not read it immediately. I regret my decisions more than you know.

This book 1,000% lives up to the hype and was SO GOOD, I absolutely devoured it. So much so that every other book I was reading got pushed to the side 🫣 I ended up going between the audiobook and e-book and it was perfect.

The unique magic system, the chronic illness representation, the push and pull of Henry and Harlow's relationship. I loved every minute of it.

I now feel like I'm wandering around aimlessly unsure of what to do with my life now that it's over 😅 outside of now needing to read every book @sheilareadsandwrites has written, obviously!

Please don't be like me, if this one has been on your TBR for a while I highly encourage you to move it to the top of the list immediately. taken in BOOKSTA by @bumble.bree.reads

I am PUMPED to be starting a buddy read today for "The Rite of Fates" by @authoratlasavery! She's also the sweetest for sending some goodies to help me get ready for it 🖤

I have already had to explain to my 6YO that yes, while they candle melts smell AMAZING he cannot keep them for himself 🤣 seriously - they smell SO GOOD!! by @bumble.bree.reads

I was going to type up this whole long thing but honestly this is just an appreciation post for the humans at @writhepole. My life is infinitely better with them in it and I am so thankful that I get to spend time with such wonderful people 💕

If I have said it once, I will say it again. This series is a warm hug to my soul.

This book in particular may be my favorite yet - but honestly I have absolutely loved anything by @sarahbethdurst and it feels like an impossible ask to make me choose.

There is so much beauty in her writing and the fantasy world she has created with this series. One that I could jump into.

This book hit close to home, about chasing joy and the beauty that comes with the quiet kind of love.

I love Marin for her strength, Dax for his ability to see the magic in everything around him, Ree's determination to follow his own path even if it's scary, and Perri...I just wish I had my own Perri. Or one of the winged cats, I would happily take that too.

I have never been more excited to have been approved for an ARC because it means I get the honor of diving into The Magical Cheese Emporium right away and see what else is in store for these islands and what familiar faces we might get to see! taken in BOOKSTA by @bumble.bree.reads

Look, don't let this cute little graphic fool you. This book emotionally devastated me in the best way.

While this is Book 3 in the series, it takes place 25 years before Book 1 and 2. BUT even though it technically is a prequel, you should absolutely read this book 3rd.

I didn't think I would feel as emotional reading this one because I wasn't (YET) invested in the characters it follows but trust @whit.stanfield to prove me wrong. So much so that just two words written in a note from one character to another in a book immediately made me start crying. Like legitimately crying where both my son and husband stopped what they were doing to look over at me in confusion.

You think they would learn at this point 🤣 But in all honesty this series is now in my "favorite series of all time" list.

I'm working through Book 4 (40% in) and I am so, so sad that it's coming to an end. I adore these characters, I adore their complexity, their sass, that each female is so strong in their own way.

PS - For those who have read at least Book 2 I hid a tiny little Easter Egg if you can find it 👀 is it accurate to the book? Ehhhhh....Did it make me smile doing it....yes 😆 taken in BOOKSTA by @bumble.bree.reads

@emilyrathauthor is one of my few auto buy authors.
I Iove her storytelling, the queer representation, her ability to bring a lightness to heavier topics. I'm just obsessed.

I knew Devour Me would likely be a new favorite though because I am feral for a good paranormal romance. Add in the heavy PNW vibes and I'm sold for life.

The book itself was fantastic and had everything that I love about Emily's writing but THE AUDIOBOOK!?!?

I can confidently say this is now my favorite audiobook of all time and the easiest infinity star rating I have ever given. @voice.of.greg, @shaneeastreads, and @meganwicks brought this story to a whole different level. I quite literally devoured (haha see what I did there) the audiobook which felt so good after being in such a slump.

I absolutely cannot wait for book 2 🖤

This is a classic "Did I finish the book, or did it finish me" moment.

Never in a million years did I think I would go from wishing for a character's downfall in one book to them being one of my favorite MMCs in the next but here we are.

It was so, so good and easily my favorite read so far this year 🧡

@whit.stanfield did such an amazing job with the mental health representation in this book too. As someone who has had some pretty dark moments in the past, this was one of the first times I have read something where I really connected with the character and their experience navigating those topics. It was more than just a plot point and it honestly brought me to tears with just how beautifully it was done.

I am so ready to dive into book 3 - the 4th and final book in the series releases tomorrow but I'm not sure I'm ready for it to end 😭 taken in BOOKSTA by @bumble.bree.reads
