🐈 it seems the house project has an unexpected new overseer!

#This guy (gal?!) was keeping a watchful eye as I cleaned out one of the back sheds… but seemed friendly enough🐈 by @bumpasshouse

Yeah I heard y’all last time and I don’t care. Scoring the drywall didn’t work 🤨

The “right” tool is the one you have that does the job 💁🏻‍♀️ by @bumpasshouse

Mailbox update!

So… first I tried to tie it back on to the post, but that was obviously a VERY temporary fix (that didn’t work at all!)

I thought the post might be salvageable so I bought a new box - that said “no tools required” and that it would fit a standard post. Well…

I took the old box off completely and pic two is the CRAZY way someone had attached it in the first place. 🙄 and the box would not attach to this.

So I had to get a new pole. Dig a new hole, measure the correct height from the ground, and reattach.

No, it wasn’t my favorite project at #bumpasshouse but doesn’t it look preeetttyy?!? 🥰 by @bumpasshouse

Wouldn’t be surprised if I opened up the next one of these and found Jumanji 😳

At least it wasn’t worst case scenario - but I still don’t understand why the former owner of Bumpass House used these drums for personal storage. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Now that the stuff is out of the bathroom I can get to the rooms ACTUAL storage spaces and see what’s been left behind….

Wait… there’s MORE STUFF!!?

This is currently the only bathroom on the first floor but it was so jammed with JUNK that honestly no one could have used it for a decade 🥴

The floor is also crumbling so I chickened out and saved it for… last (ish). Plus my allergies said NO to being outside today.

So let’s see what I might find inside. FYI I already found a gun behind this shower so 💁🏻‍♀️ by @bumpasshouse

Why is it that the historic/ancestry finds are the most thrilling ones?

(Just sold an antique coffee filter found in the house in my Etsy store for $$ though so — I’m here for ALL of it) But I think this bucket of snaps and clippings just answered a lot of questions)

ALSO, I don’t know who needs to hear this but please don’t store your photo memories this way. So many of them were ruined 😩 by @bumpasshouse

Cleaning out the … chicken coop?!?

This old building on the #BumpassHouse property is creepy and full of CRAP but it just might be my best shot at making a temporary shelter for use during this reno.

Any fun finds??! So far just found some wood, tools, chairs and some old glass bottles, but you never know!! by @bumpasshouse

I asked for a metal detector for Christmas and my secret Santa (Brian!) got me this awesome one from @minelabmetaldetectors that alerts you to four different types of metal.

I was expecting the nails… and coins SO many coins! … but it seems there may be some gold or silver under those floorboards. Maybe 🤞 by @bumpasshouse
