I've been working all month on editing together photos, audio and footage of this side project which has spanned 10 years in the making. I joke to say pressing record was the easy part 😅

Whatever deadlines you need to meet for work can wait. Your school projects can wait. Your vacation to Puerto Rico can wait. Daylight murder is irreversible. If you are feeling like you’re drowning in expectations and responsibilities, just listen to me say that the only expectation I have of you is to speak up.

AI taking over, instructing people to kill themselves, social media doomscrolling, these distractions only feed your isolation.

Talk to your neighbors across the street. Do you even know their names? Where did they go to school? What do their parents do? How’s their dog? How’s their cousin doing? What movies are they into recently?

Building the relationships with the people around me have kept me grounded. There’s so much life to learn from what others have lived. There’s no algorithm on your street. by @bunny_boif

Last month I had the opportunity to perform at West Virginia’s Martinsburg and Berkeley County’s official first pride event coordinated by dedicated volunteers and allies. It’s often the small towns and rural communities that go 11 months without even the slightest acknowledgment of queer people in their neighborhoods, to see only for 30 days- or one weekend- rainbow flags on business windows and drawn by calk the streets read: “Love Is Love”

I’m incredibly thankful to the board of @berkeleycountypridewv @darrentruthdragking and @dragking_viktormalefic for organizing this Pride and supporting human rights 365 days a year. Pride is more than just a party. It’s more than just a cocktail hour. It’s a fight we can’t win alone.

This memory will be always one of my brightest. I thought I’d never be capable of acting or being a real performer. Until now I misunderstood acting for faking it; costumes that hide your body, makeup that masks your insecurity and pretending to be someone I could never be. But I was so far from the truth. In drag I feel like I am a part of something larger than myself, seeing so many people enjoying themselves to my entertainment. MY entertaining! I feel invincible in my makeup and my clothes, not hiding behind it. This get up is just what it takes for me to feel understood.

I thought great performance took perfecting lines, mastering your voice, pressed garments; no loose threads. I thought confidence was the strength. But I understand now that the strength grows from letting go. I know what the audience sees is a clown, but what I feel is being seen. taken in Martinsburg, West Virginia by @bunny_boif
