Cookies and Milk double up

Y'all can blame @manugeettoi for teaching how to make double-up pasties on her tips on tap tutorials. I've been dying to try this method for years but was waiting for the perfect project.

@clarabendoverak reached out to me months ago wanting this idea of milk and cookies as pasties but with a twist of course. We discussed all kinds of things and settled on one bitten cookie and a regular cookie that would be removable to reveal a milk carton underneath. Pasties reveal!!!! I began drafting my pattern and thinking about how to make them both lightweight and durable.

In order to achieve a legible-looking cookie 🍪 I knew I had to use my favorite rhinestone dealers. The entire cookie is covered in @lookingglassgems . Rhinestones I've been holding on to for just this moment in light Colorado for the cookie base. What represents the chocolate chips were a special small batch of rhinestones they made for @thesamsonnight charitable cause. Reasons I love supporting @lookingglassgems they give back to the burlesque community!!! I know my money goes to good people with great values.

These pasties are making their way to Alaska now very slowly and well past my estimated delivery date. Please just join me in sending some positive energy so they get there ✨️ 💓 @clarabendoverak and I have been anxiously watching the tracking number and some good vibes would be amazing.

Pomegranate pasties

The pomegranate is a symbol of fertility and marriage, and its consumption by Persephone is a symbolic representation of her joining Hades in marriage and becoming the queen of the Underworld.

Special thanks to @hades.way for asking me to create this piece of art for his love @persephonedarling aka @primadonna_vee

I would not have known how to create these without a little help from tips on tap @manugeettoi she teaches how to make any flat image into a pastie so the possibilities are endless!!

13 shades of rhinestones were used to make these pasties. Can you identify them all? 3 of the 6 shades of red were from @lookingglassgems and I used 10 of their rhinestones shades altogether. Who's gonna crack the code? by @bunnylefluer

Who had an x pastie template that I was able to convert into a cross, and it worked out perfectly. I highly recommend using her tips on tap tutorials as a creative jumping point and just dive on in. If you are a maker like me or a burlesque baddie wanting to upgrade their costuming game. It's worth it.

All the red light siam rhinestones were from @lookingglassgems and all the gold are from @axilandtexas. I also cut and shaped golden filigree metal adornments and the chain to add to these pastiesmaking them more ethereal like those of the catholic church.

Purple fan upgrade for @violet_moxxie

These gorgeous purple ostrich feather fans were created using feathers from a fan that needed a little face-lift.

The feather quality was pretty good, but we needed to dye and wash to wake them up. We decided earlier on to add an additional feather turning a 2 feather fan into 3. We got tons of height and body doing so. Sourcing the right shades of purple and getting the wrong colors is a story for another day. At least we got here in the end!!!

The best upgrade was the staves. I love working with @donna.touch staves. They are just superior in all ways! I highly recommend checking out her store at @thefeatherfanshop

Shout out to @showtimetaxidermy for being my mascot for this project :D

Zelda heart and stamina pasties

Molly, thank you for bringing this idea to our table. I really love it when people come to me with wild pastie ideas it's so much fun to create! As soon as we jumped off our consultation, I was already cooking!

I decided to use a shiny red and green vinyl to showcase the color and focus my stoning on only the gold encasements that were hand carved. Yes, that's right, I don't use cricket... I hand carved every bit of both of these custom designs and very very carefully glued it on my shiny base. This part of the process was so slow and methodical that only a crazy person would do it like this, and so I did.

The customization of these pasties could have only been achieved using the skills I've learned from @manugeettoi on her tips on tap tutorials. Also, shout out to crafty friend @pixiekatcreations whom I met almost 5 years ago using Tips on tap. The only other person in this world I've ever shared my top costuming secrets with because they shared their process with me, and it was a game changer for the creation of these pasties. Thank youuuuu both of you!!!

This is an appreciation post.
Salem, as a client, has allowed me the grace to not only mess up but fix my mistakes. I've been able to grow as a designer and seamstress by leaps and bounds. He has mentioned our small business behind velvet curtains while simultaneously propelling our career forward. Just acknowledging and talking us up in a room full of opportunities is huge as a small business, and I will forever be grateful.

As a friend, I just want to say thank you for pushing me and believing in us. Helping to refine our skills has been because of your creative eye. I WOULD not be here at this level of confidence in my skills had you not built me back up and allowed me to trust people again. For that, I will always push for better and more badassness!!! May our creative babies outlive us one day in a museum ❤️

About the coat. It's Faux bunny fur (naturally), sequins lined with charmuse. The collar is fully adjustable to create different vibes ✨️ cuz mood... It was a last minute thought I had that landed beautifully. The fabric was sourced by questionable methods cuz we (he) is sketchy like that..lol But seriously I wouldn't change it! It's a dope robe!!! We even built shoulder pieces inside to give the whole thing a masculine structure.

Dahlia came to me with a vision and several yards of holographic spandex. After our consultation, I began searching high and low for the perfect vintage dress pattern. Now, don't go trying to find the pattern because she snagged the last one online!!! Good thing I know how to make it now, or I can at least understand the way it's made 😆

This dress is fully lined with black mesh spandex and has a full tulle petty coat sewn into the flounce. It zips open from the bottom to the top for a fun reverse reveal. Take notice of the gathers of fabric around the zipper and down the back of the dress such an iconic detail. ✨️

Honorable mention of the gauntlets we also added as an accessory. Cuz unnecessary fringe is always necessary, duh...

Can't wait to see the routine she builds around this badass costume! Thanks for trusting me with this vision.

This jacket was made in two phases. Phase one was the jacket itself. Phase two was the additions of the shoulder pieces. While project planning this look, we discussed various ways we could attach all this fringe to adorned this jacket. I threw the idea on the table of removable epaulettes, and we got to making. I won't share all my secrets as they are still developing into grateness. However, I will share that these epaulettes are fully detachable and hang for storage. There was a lot of delicate hand sewing involved in the process to make the final look of these.

While making these, I was watching @ladygaga Mayhem Requiem's concert, and I realized this looks like something one of her monsters would wear. That's when I knew I was on the right track baby.

Jaws pasties (back for another bite)

These pasties were an original idea I came up with for a raffle item I shipped out to Coney Island for my lovely friend @waedressed. I had no idea they would be such a huge hit and I would have the opportunity to make another set @bluedivawino thank you, Heather, for loving my silly art :D

I was able to make these pasties using Tips on tap tutorials from @manugeettoi. Shout out to Christna for providing her patreons with a quiet, crafting accountability hour. Helped me move these pasties along a little faster ;)

This time I decided to use @lookingglassgems Aquamarine which slays up against the siam.

@justinsantanatorres knew exactly what they were looking for and and I was so happy to deliver. They mentioned blood beading and showed me inspo photos of their gorgeous costume. After our consultation, my 1st thought was what do you need ME for lol. I believe I actually said that out loud...but my second thought was YES, YES to all of this forever, lol 😆 Sometimes you just get lucky working with really fabulous people in your career.

I was able to customize @justinsantanatorres 's wants by using the tips on tap tutorials from @manugeettoi I could never be at my level or skillset of pastie making without these amazing tutorials.

Rhinestones are a mix of my collections over time. We wanted to match a Ghostface scream costume, which has a neon green and purple color its litterally the most amazing costume, and yall go compliment them!!! 🤌
