funnel of love - vintage sandbar
a sandbar spring 2023 that only matched up with the right swell window for 2 days , this was filmed with my old iphone 7 and the first designated filming shoe .. that phone died like 3 days later . i only have this clip because i had texted it to @bionicsurfboards , he then sent it back with another edit from the same day . i had texted him the clip because i didn’t want anyone to know about the sandbar , there’s a few of us that wait 10 years for that thing , in 30 years of living by this place i’ve see it like this one time .the next day was cleaner but a foot smaller and i lost the footage . by @burnt_animal

i think surfing might be ready for the board i drew up in 2008 . the ropeless wakeskate ,
the original thought was to winch at waves , hit slides on waves . maybe throw a box in the shallows to spice it up then ramp out on the close out section , but the idea was to still have the foam to ride out using the wave and complete the combo . @josh.sleigh and myself were brainstorming a traveling winch circus at the time , so the ideas were all over 🤣
the idea of this board survived , although it was designed to be finless , the idea to develop a durable wakeskate style fin that could handle sliding on boxes n all that yet still provide the grab you would need for tracking down the line is ideal for people that like fins on surfboards 🤣
However now , with wavepools , im thinking someone like @blairconklin on a board like this would be immediately setting the bar for the next generation , no fins needed . *my goal * see someone get barreled then come out , kickflip-> front board , chop hop tre flip .. the wave dies , crowd goes wild , people rush the pool , give hugs / spray non alcoholic organic bubbly , history is made . who’s gonna make it ?

these are 100% all self created . put the phone in the shoe , set up the angle , pushed record , went surfing , cut the clips .Once the clips are cut, screen record the side to side and zoom , just so it looks like someone is filming and so you can see better detail .. sometimes during that process i see a cool screenshot .. here are some more of those .
been saving all these for a while and i don’t even know why i was saving them ? so here it is . pictures dude . enjoy 🤙🏽 by @burnt_animal

shoe’s magic moments , always been more of a “video guy” but my angles are “still shot guy” inspired .when it comes to still shots, in my opinion there’s no one better than @nellysmagicmoments 🐐
His angles , colors and artistic approach are unmatched .
