Video Games and Comics are awesome

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I finally got these pieces of artwork framed recently and they came out beautifully!
The first one is Pitch Concept Art by @jaredcullum for Kaitō 84. The main antagonist is Jei and he appears as this giant in this piece. He does not appear as a giant in the official release of the comic, but I still think it is a cool concept worth revisiting! The frame is a dark Charcoal Wood and the matboard is a lighter black with a wavy pattern that gives it an almost otherworldly feeling. In the middle is a gold boarder which mirrors the golden columns in the painting. I wanted the frame to give off a otherworldly presence with a hint of regality. I think it turned out awesome and is one of the best frames I have ever designed.

The next piece is a commission by @tonyfleecs of Miyamoto Usagi from Usagi Yojimbo. The piece has a lot of greys and blacks, so I wanted the frame to reflect that. The frame and matboard being of a lighter color with a black boarder in the center, which really draws your eyes in. Another perfect pairing!

I have some more artwork that still needs to be framed. Hopefully I can get them framed perfectly as these two were.

I had a great time this year at PAX WEST 2026. I made a bunch of new con friends and got to hang out with friends from previous conventions again.

The Con definitely felt smaller because a lot of big name developers didn't go, but that was fine by me because there were a lot of awesome Indie games this year. VoidWood and War of the Western Deep being my favorite of the convention. When it comes to AAA Developers, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 by Bandai and Stranger Than Heaven by RGG Studio were the stand out games for me. Stranger Than Heaven has a really interesting and fun combat system, so I am excited to play that when it comes out in January.

I didn't go to many of the panels this year, but I made sure to line up for the Witcher 3 Songs of the Past Panel. They showed us some gameplay which looked fantastic and some of the devs spoke about it after the gameplay finished. At the end of the panel, they gave us a Witcher pin which looks awesome.

The cosplays this year were fantastic as well. The Like A Dragon fandom was out there in full force. Hopefully we can have a cosplay meet up or fan panel next year like we had last year. I dressed up as Ichiban from Infinite Wealth on Monday and Kevin Flynn from Tron Legacy on Saturday.

I had a great time like I always do at PAX. I'm definitely excited to see what next year's theme will be and which Devs will appear. by @bushidocomics

I had a fun time volunteering for @everfreenw over the weekend! The last time I volunteered at a con was in 2019 for MegaCon Orlando, so it was a great feeling to be able to experience a Convention from the Staff side again. Working in the Autograph Room alongside the Guests Of Honor is always a unique and fulfilling experience. Getting to create a positive experience for them at the Con, seeing Attendees joy upon getting their autographs or pictures taken with them, and having a blast with fellow Staff Members such as @pixcalvin.

I got to finally meet @tonyfleecs who is a fantastic artist and super chill dude! I bought some original art and a copy of the fantastic Stray Dogs with a Remarque. I was also lucky enough to get an art commission from him during the first day of the Con. He drew this fantastic full-body of Usagi Yojimbo and Spot.

I also got to meet Lauren Faust, which was awesome because the last time she attended conventions was also in 2019. I've always been a big fan of Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, The PowerPuff Girls, etc so I couldn't miss the opportunity to get my DVD signed by her and to get a photo with her.

The highlight of the Con was definitely the Karaoke they did on Saturday night.

I would definitely love to be able to help out again next year because it was a fantastic experience.

I finally got this BEAUTIFUL Art Commission by @jaredcullum framed! The Wooden Frame and Muted Purple Matboard work really well with the colors in the painting. I love how it gives off that 1980s vibe, which is perfect since the story of Kaitō 84 is set in 1984 Ōsaka. I recently got some Original Comic Pages and Concept Art from him, which I can't wait to get framed as well.

Had another great time at AEW WrestleDream. Biggest negative of the show is that there was no collectible chair to take home with you if you sit in the first 5 rows like last year. Bring that back @aew . Besides that, the show was a lot of fun! Glad I brought my Nishikiyama sign from last year 😆

Awesome day today at #paxwest 2024. The concert at the @thebehemothgames booth with DJ @patriccatani was amazing! After the concert there was a Alien Hominid Invasion tournament and I won first place! Check out their booth if you get the chance, it's still one of my favorites!

Had a great time at the Fallout Episode 1 & 2 Screening. This might be one of the best adaptations of a video game series to date. The characters and story so far are fantastic and I can see a spin off series in the future, that's how great a lot of these characters are. War Never Changes
