STUGOV SPOTLIGHT!! 🐻

Hi everyone!! I’m Mary Tafas, a second-year Political Science major with a minor in Business Administration on the pre-law track. I’m originally from Washington state and am serving my second year in Baylor Student Government as a Senator on the DEI Committee. Outside of StuGov, I’m involved in Student Foundations and Young Life in Waco. I also love spending time with my family, friends, and the Lord. After Baylor, I hope to attend law school and become a corporate attorney, either in Big Law or sports law!

I knew I wanted to run for StuGov when I committed to Baylor. I saw the impact it had on campus and knew I wanted to be a part of it. As a senator, my goal is to hear student’s opinions and concerns, bring their voices to the university, and engage in meaningful debates over legislation. One of my favorite parts of StuGov is seeing people with different perspectives come together to do what’s best for Baylor students. These past two years have been such a blessing, and I’m so excited for what’s ahead! by @bustugov

STUGOV SPOTLIGHT!! 🐻

Hi everyone! I’m Riyan, a junior Political Science major serving my third year in Baylor Student Government as a Senator. Outside of StuGov, I’m part of the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core, involved in youth programming in the Waco community, and a member of the Baylor Undergraduate Law Review. I’m interested in public service, and outside of school I love traveling and spending time with my family.

I joined Student Government because I wanted to be involved in the decisions that shape student life and find a way to contribute to the Baylor community. One of my favorite parts of StuGov has been getting to know people from all across campus and seeing ideas we discuss turn into projects that students can enjoy. Over the past three years, StuGov has given me some great friendships, experiences, and memories, and I’m really grateful to be a part of it. by @bustugov

STUGOV SPOTLIGHT!! 🐻

Hi everyone! My name is Ava Gonzales, and this year I am serving as Chief of Staff to the Student Body President! I am a senior Political Science major with minors in Rhetoric & Public Discourse and Legal Reasoning & Analysis on the Pre-Law track. I am also apart of Alpha Chi Omega and Pi Sigma Alpha.

As Chief of Staff I help manage the Cabinet of the Student Body President. I have previously served as a Senator and Legislative Secretary. I joined Student Government because I wanted to advocate for the needs of students and be apart of effecting change. Student Government has brought me amazing friendships and a community like no other. I am truly grateful for all the late nights full of memories and laughter this organization has brought me! by @bustugov
