a painting from a while back i never shared! this piece is called “nanny’s house in another dimension”!

36x36 acrylic/collage on canvas.

when i was a child, we would go to texas to visit my grandma, nanny, once a year at christmas. going all the way from minnesota to texas always felt like being transported into another timeline. from the snow to the heat on a plane like THAT! dinner at el fenix. shopping at ross. braum’s right after. my cousin’s dog. the smell of hairspray from the aunts getting primped for church. sneaking away to ride motorcycles with my uncles. some of my earliest memories. now, sometimes i think about what it would look like if we were still able to transport to this place in time. 💙
