Butterfly Effect Comic is upcoming Comicbook company in the Bronx. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.)

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

At BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS, we believe independent artists deserve more than exposure—they deserve opportunities to grow, showcase their creativity, and benefit from the work they create. Our featured artist, Mark Rios, represents the kind of creative talent we want to support as we build this company from the ground up. All of the artwork that has been posted across the BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS social media pages has been created by Mark Rios, helping establish the visual identity of the universe we are building. Our future BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS showcases are being developed as spaces where participating artists can display and sell their own artwork, connect directly with audiences, and introduce people to their individual styles. We want artists to have the freedom to build their own names while also helping us create a community where original ideas and independent voices are celebrated.

These showcases are also part of a much bigger plan. As BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS grows, we want to use these events to help raise the money necessary to bring more artists onto our creative teams—giving artists opportunities to help transform our digital comics into professionally illustrated paperback editions while continuing to showcase and sell their own original artwork at our events. The goal is to keep building step by step: more artists, more comics, larger showcases, eventually gallery exhibitions, and, down the road, our first official BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS store. We want that future space to represent more than our characters and stories; we want it to become a home where independent artists can have their work seen, appreciated, and supported.

We welcome artists, comic-book creators, illustrators, designers, storytellers, and anyone interested in becoming part of what we’re building. If you’re an artist and want us to see your work, feel free to tag yourself below and introduce yourself. Please be patient with responses because, at the moment, I’m building and managing this independently. Every step matters, and every new connection can become part of something much larger. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change — BUTTERFLY EF taken in Kingsbridge Bronx NY by @butterfly_effect_comics_

BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS is here to flood the industry with powerful Black and Brown characters, beginning with stories rooted in the Bronx and expanding across the world in ways that have never been told before. From individual superheroes to full superhero teams, our mission is to build original worlds, unforgettable characters, and stories that represent communities too often overlooked.

BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS will create comic books, anime, movies, short films, novels, and a growing cosplay community—with even bigger plans, including a restaurant in the works down the road. We will also be developing a six-week comic book writing course taught by me, Anton Frankie Negroni, along with an art class designed to help the next generation of creators bring their own visions to life.

Our vision at BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS is simple: “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” One changed perspective can create an infinite amount of stories—and we plan to tell them.

Welcome to the world of BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS and our flagship character, Soul Burn. Born from the streets of the Bronx and rooted in the Grand Concourse, Soul Burn is a noir-horror antihero powered by the Ancestral Flames of Hymns—the spiritual power of enslaved people who were brought to America and whose voices, pain, strength, and memory refuse to disappear. When injustice calls, Soul Burn answers. His greatest weapons are the Chains of Injustice, supernatural chains that grow from his hair and represent the same chains once used to enslave generations of people. Soul Burn carries history with him every time he enters the fight.

The Ancestral Flames of Hymns have chosen Soul Burn to confront injustice in the present while forcing people to remember where that injustice began. This is not just a story about superpowers—it is a story about memory, consequences, family, the Bronx, and what happens when the voices of the past finally have someone powerful enough to speak for them. Soul Burn walks through a world of shadows, corruption, supernatural forces, and people who believe their actions will never catch up with them. But when the hymns begin, when the flames start to burn, and when the Chains of Injustice appear, somebody already knows Soul Burn is coming.

And this is only the beginning. The Bronx will become the foundation of an entire BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS universe filled with new superheroes, terrifying villains, antiheroes, rival forces, and superhero teams whose stories will cross paths with Soul Burn and eventually collide with one another. Different neighborhoods will have their own legends, their own battles, and their own reasons for fighting—but they will all exist inside the same growing universe. The first issue of Soul Burn will be arriving within the next couple of weeks. Welcome to the Grand Concourse. Welcome to the Bronx. Welcome to the beginning of the BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS Universe. 🔥⛓️ #ButterflyEffectComics #FYP #ComicBooks #SoulBurn #Superheroes taken in Kingsbridge Bronx NY by @butterfly_effect_comics_

Butterfly Effect Comics is continuing to open the door for artists who want an opportunity to showcase their creativity, build their name, and become part of something growing out of the Bronx. As we move closer to our showcases, website releases, digital comics, and physical paperback projects, artists will have opportunities to display and sell their work, bring their portfolios, create original artwork, and eventually help bring our characters to life on the printed page. Whether your style is graffiti, traditional comic art, Japanese animation, backgrounds, architecture, cartooning, or something completely original, we want Butterfly Effect Comics to be another platform where artists can be seen and appreciated.

A special shout-out goes to Bronx artist Mark Rios, whose artwork has been a major part of what you’ve seen across the Butterfly Effect Comics social media pages. Mark has put his talent and creativity behind countless pieces we’ve shared, helping us visually build the worlds, characters, and energy behind this company. We believe the artists behind the scenes deserve just as much recognition as the characters on the page, and Mark is only the beginning. As Butterfly Effect Comics continues to grow, we want more artists to have the opportunity to leave their own fingerprints on this universe.

And a HUGE shout-out to Wu-Tang affiliate Wufam for providing their music to represent our characters, artists, and the movement we’re building! Their music has helped give our visuals another level of energy and identity. Make sure you support Wufam, look out for their singles and albums on Spotify and wherever you listen to music, and keep watching as music, comics, art, and Bronx creativity continue coming together through Butterfly Effect Comics.

At just 19 years old, Lia Monroe is the youngest member of the Ugly Ducklings, but her potential is anything but small. Her powerful psychokinetic abilities are closely connected to her emotions, which means control is just as important as strength. Lia has practiced relentlessly, pushing herself to understand her abilities and use them to make the world a better place for children suffering within the foster care system. Her older brother Jalen is much more than a teammate to her—she looks at him as a father figure, mentor, and protector who has helped guide her into becoming the young hero she is today. Her connection with Path is just as important, because Path’s understanding of the emotional spectrum helps Lia manage her emotional state, remain centered, and gain greater control over the incredible power she carries inside her.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Lia is also a college student pursuing a future in social work, hoping to help children both with and without a superhero suit. But when the Ugly Ducklings are needed, school books get put down and the mission becomes bigger than the Bronx. Alongside Jalen, Path, Gem, and the rest of her family, Lia takes the fight wherever children need protection—proving that the youngest Duckling may one day become one of the team’s greatest leaders.

Path is the emotional heart of The Ugly Ducklings, a woman whose abilities allow her to sense, interpret, absorb, and influence the emotional spectrum around her. To Path, emotions are more than feelings—they become energy, color, intention, and information. She can recognize when someone is afraid, grieving, angry, confused, hopeful, truthful, or attempting to manipulate the people around them. That connection naturally draws her toward every member of the team, but her bond with Lia Monroe is especially important because Lia’s psychokinetic abilities are directly affected by her emotional state. When Lia becomes overwhelmed, Path can help her identify what she is feeling, regain control, and turn powerful emotions into focus rather than allowing those emotions to control her. Path becomes more than a teammate—she becomes an emotional compass for the Ugly Ducklings, helping them understand themselves and one another as their abilities continue to evolve.

Outside of the battlefield, Path works within the foster care system while pursuing psychology so she can professionally study the connection between emotions, trauma, behavior, and extraordinary abilities. Her education gives her another way to understand not only her own powers, but the abilities of Lia, Jalen, Gem, Tina, and the other children the Ugly Ducklings encounter. Combining psychology, social work, and her emotional-spectrum abilities makes Path incredibly valuable to the team’s mission. She can sense when a person’s words do not match their emotional intentions, recognize patterns of fear or distress in children, and help uncover abusive or manipulative people hiding within systems that are supposed to protect them. Beginning in the Bronx and eventually expanding their mission across the world, Path helps the Ugly Ducklings identify children who need help while also recognizing the people responsible for exploiting, neglecting, or mistreating them.

When Path reaches the highest level of her abilities, she transforms into the Butterfly Phoenix, representing rebirth, healing, transformation, and the idea that experiencing something devastating does not have to be the end of someone’s story. 🎨 BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS — CALLING ALL ARTISTS! 🎨

At BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS, one of our biggest goals is creating real opportunities for independent artists to showcase their talent, build their names, and make money from their creativity. As we continue to grow, we plan to begin hosting BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS ARTIST SHOWCASES, where artists will be able to bring their portfolios, display their original artwork, connect with other creatives, and sell their work directly to the public. Once our website is fully up and running, we also want participating artists to have opportunities to showcase and sell their artwork online, giving their work a platform that reaches beyond the showcase itself.

AI is one of the creative tools we use while developing the BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS universe, but we also believe strongly in the importance of human artists and original artwork. As our characters and stories move from digital development into original physical paperback comic books, artists will have opportunities to bring those characters to life through their own artwork. From SOUL BURN and the UGLY DUCKLINGS SERIES to the many heroes, villains, and stories still being developed, we want different artists to have the chance to contribute their talent, build their portfolios, receive recognition for their work, and grow alongside Butterfly Effect Comics. We want this to become a platform where technology and traditional artistry can work together while allowing the individual artist’s creativity and style to thrive.

We’re starting right here in the BRONX, a borough filled with incredible artists, storytellers, designers, and creators who deserve more opportunities to have their work seen. Our featured artist Mark Rios https://www.instagram.com/mrios34?stkn=OWJmb2tzdmt5aWJl. https://www.facebook.com/mark.rios.357/ represents exactly why we believe in that vision. His artwork continues to be featured throughout our social media pages as we introduce people to the talent behind the art. But Mark is only the beginning. We are looking for more Bronx artists and artists from everywhere who want an opportunity to be part of what we are building. Bring your portfolio. taken in Kingsbridge Bronx NY by @butterfly_effect_comics_

⚡ LIA — THE FUTURE OF THE UGLY DUCKLINGS ⚡ BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS

Lia may be the youngest member of the UGLY DUCKLINGS, but she is potentially one of its most powerful. Gifted with extraordinary psychokinesis, Lia can manipulate objects and forces with her mind, and the true limits of her abilities are still being discovered. But her greatest challenge isn’t becoming stronger—it’s learning how to remain emotionally centered while using that strength. Her powers respond intensely to her emotions, meaning fear, anger, frustration, and stress can dramatically affect her control. Lia understands that mastering her mind is just as important as mastering her abilities. At her full potential, she could become powerful enough to threaten an entire planet if she ever completely lost control, which is exactly why she works so hard to make sure that day never comes. Lia and Jalen Monroe live in the Kingsbridge Avenue community in the Bronx, a neighborhood that has helped shape who they are and what they believe they have a responsibility to protect.

What many people don’t know is that Lia’s full name is Lia Monroe, and she is Jalen Monroe’s adopted younger sister. Lia became part of Jalen’s family when she was adopted at only five years old, beginning a bond that would eventually grow far beyond brother and sister. Jalen has spent years teaching Lia what leadership really means while helping train her to understand and control her powers. He has so much faith in his younger sister that he believes Lia could be the next person to lead the Ugly Ducklings. He isn’t simply preparing her to become more powerful—he’s preparing her to understand responsibility, patience, teamwork, and what it means to have other people depending on you. Like Jalen, Lia has witnessed the horrible things that can happen to children within the foster care system. Those experiences have given them a shared purpose: using their abilities alongside the other members of the Ugly Ducklings to stand up for and protect children who have become victims of the system.

That emotional journey has also created a special connection between Lia and Path, whose own abilities are tied directly to the emotional taken in Kingsbridge Bronx NY by @butterfly_effect_comics_

BUTTERFLY EFFECT COMICS
THE UGLY DUCKLING SERIES 💎 GEM — KNOWLEDGE, ALCHEMY & BROTHERHOOD 💎

Gem is one of the most versatile members of the UGLY DUCKLINGS, because for him, knowledge becomes a weapon, a defense, and a way to protect others. His mastery of alchemy has taught him how to manipulate the states of matter—transforming solids into liquids and liquids into gases, while constantly studying new combinations and applications. But Gem didn’t stop with alchemy. He began combining that knowledge with his martial-arts training, creating a fighting style that continues evolving every time he learns something new. Different techniques, movements, strategies, and scientific principles become additional tools he can incorporate into combat. Gem approaches every confrontation like a problem waiting to be solved: observe, understand, adapt, and then use exactly what is necessary to protect the people around him. One of Gem’s greatest abilities is his extraordinary mind: he can read an entire book in under 10 seconds and permanently retain all of the knowledge contained within it. Once Gem reads and understands something, that information becomes part of the enormous library inside his mind, allowing him to recall and apply it whenever necessary. This ability has allowed him to continuously expand his understanding of science, alchemy, martial arts, languages, history, strategy, and countless other subjects. Another extraordinary part of this ability is Gem’s power to share the knowledge stored inside his mind with another person simply by tapping them on the shoulder. Once the connection is made, that person can access and understand the knowledge Gem chooses to give them for one hour. Whether it’s a language, a scientific principle, a survival skill, a martial-arts technique, or another piece of information Gem has mastered, for that hour the person can understand and apply that knowledge as if they had studied it themselves. When the hour ends, the transferred knowledge fades, encouraging the person to continue learning and developing the skill for themselves.

At the heart of Gem’s story is his relationship with Jalen Monroe. They aren’t simply teammates or b taken in Kingsbridge Bronx NY by @butterfly_effect_comics_

GEM — THE ALCHEMIST | THE UGLY DUCKLINGS SERIES

Meet Gem, one of the most intelligent and unpredictable members of THE UGLY DUCKLINGS. Gem possesses the extraordinary ability to read any book in just three seconds, permanently retaining the knowledge and understanding how to apply it to the best of his abilities. But knowledge this powerful was never meant to stay with just one person. Gem can mentally select information he has absorbed and, with a touch, temporarily transfer that knowledge to another person—whether it’s understanding how to disarm a dangerous device, perform emergency skills, solve a complex problem, or suddenly understand the techniques and discipline of kung fu. The person receiving that knowledge can only retain it for one hour. Once that hour expires, the transferred knowledge disappears, encouraging them to become curious about what they experienced and actually study, practice, and learn it for themselves. Gem can give someone knowledge temporarily, but it is up to that person to turn that opportunity into something permanent. His obsession with learning eventually led him to master chemistry and alchemy, including the periodic table and the manipulation of matter, allowing him to transform substances between liquid, solid, and gas. Gem isn’t simply powerful because of what he can do—his greatest weapon is what he knows.

Behind that intelligence is a charismatic, laid-back personality that becomes incredibly important when THE UGLY DUCKLINGS are facing frightening and overwhelming situations. When everyone else feels the pressure, Gem has a way of remaining calm, thinking through the problem, and reminding the team that there is always another solution. Standing beside him is his best friend, rival, brother-in-arms, and other half of one of the team’s signature dynamic duos, Jalen Monroe. Gem and Jalen have been friends since they were nine years old, growing up around the Kingsbridge Avenue area of the Bronx, and their friendship has evolved into a constant competition that pushes both of them to become better. They spar, challenge each other’s abilities, argue, laugh, and test their limits—but when the team needs them most, that riva taken in Kingsbridge Bronx NY by @butterfly_effect_comics_
