Buzzi debuts his live set at BASE SEVEN. Brooklyn-born, Jose Buzzi has spent over two decades inside the machines, building a sound through instinct, improvisation, and a deep command of his machines. His sets are fully live, hardware-driven, and never the same twice: hypnotic repetition collides with percussive grit, discordant tension, and raw physical movement, reshaped in real time on the dance floor.

Buzzi has made appearances at Tresor, RSO, Basement, Nowadays + many more legendary rooms that demand precision and reward risk. He brings that same unpredictable set to BASE SEVEN for the first time, creating physical, unpredictable sounds that balance classic techno pulse with harder pressure. A sound that is harder, heavier, and entirely his own.

Expect the machines to lead and Buzzi to follow as we are immersed in his world with a 360 live set at Bossa Nova Civic Club.

Five hours with @kilbourne2themax for @crud0___.

Ashe on CDJs, me live on the machines. This was the first time we tried something this long in that format, and it was genuinely challenging in the best way.

Thank you to everyone who stayed with us in that room. It felt special.

May was a lot, in the best way.

Started the month closing the first @archivo____________ event. Being trusted to close their first night really meant a lot. You could feel how much care they put into it.

The 5 hour b2b/live set with @kilbourne2themax at @crud0___ was probably the most challenging performance I’ve done so far, but also one of the most fun. Ashe was on the CDJs, I was on the machines, and we really got to stretch things out. Started slow, built up the tension, went through a bunch of different sounds, and somehow kept it moving for 5 hours. I learned a lot from that one. Big love to Ashe for pushing me and to everyone who stayed locked in with us.

Also started letting go of more music through the Archive series. Less overthinking, less waiting for everything to feel perfect. Just letting tracks move and hopefully become useful tools for people. Much love to @ninaprotocol for the staff pick.

Ended the month with my Detroit debut at @100p.live . Honored to share the lineup with @perctrax , @phasefatale, @headlesstechno, @negative__affect, @sleepycat_ofc, @ihatemonix, and @amnesiac_host. Playing an all-hardware/live event in the city that helped birth this sound was a really special way to close out the month.

Feeling grateful for the rooms, the people, the dancers, and the chance to keep learning through all of this. Thank you Detroit for making a NYC kid feel welcome. Hope to be back soon. by @buzzzzzzi

Last month at @dripping.fyi, my live setup ended up in the middle of the dancefloor at @nowadaysnyc.

It wasn’t planned, but it changed the whole shape of the set. I was surrounded by dancers, body heat, and the full pressure of the 4-point system. I fucking love that sound system.

A few things are slowly starting to surface.

Vinyl EP on the way. More details on that soon.

There is also a live album coming in CD format, documenting one of the hardware sets.

Last week I quietly released 34 unreleased recordings, loops, tools, and sketches on Bandcamp. Some are unfinished, some are meant to be used, flipped, layered, or pulled apart.
