POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

NBA All-Star Weekend is loud.

But the moment that stuck with me most last week
happened at Crenshaw High School's auditorium in Los Angeles.

I had the chance to sit alongside Coach John Thompson III and Henry Organ for Nike University’s Business Behind the Game panel.

We didn’t talk about highlights.

We talked about:
– Building teams
– Leading when no one is watching
– Making hard decisions
– Creating culture

The students asked sharp questions.
You could see something click.

There’s more than one way into sport.

After 20 years across coaching, Nike, and the NBA, I’ve learned this:

Access shapes opportunity.

It is not just about who is talented. It is about who is seen, who is invited in, and who is given a chance to sit at the table.

If you are in a position to create access for someone else, do it.

Grateful to Nike for investing in the next generation.

If you’re a student reading this, or trying to find your path into sports, your way in doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

And if you don’t know where to start, send me a DM.
Happy to point you in the right direction. Three panelists seated on stage during Nike University’s “Business Behind the Game” discussion, speaking to students about leadership and careers in sports. taken in Crenshaw, Los Angeles by @bwdavison
