Week 7 of 12 ✅

That means Disney race weekend is only 32 days away. 🏃‍♀️✨

If I’m being honest, I haven’t been as consistent with my training plan as I wanted to be. I could blame CPO season. I could blame typhoon weather. But the truth is, I’ve let a little laziness sneak in too. 😅

My longest run lately had only been a 10K, and I’ve been dreading going beyond that distance. The last time I ran farther than that was back on June 6th, and even then it was only 7 miles. Last week I skipped my long run entirely, so this week I knew I needed to face it head on.

I was nervous. I was doubting myself. I was worried about how my body would respond.

Thankfully, I wasn’t doing it alone. ❤️

Several of us here in Yokosuka are training for upcoming races, with distances ranging from 9 miles all the way up to 19 miles. I shared my concerns with the group, and together we came up with a plan. We staggered our start times, coordinated meet-up points along the route, and slowly collected runners as the miles added up. One by one, we linked up and kept moving forward until everyone reached their goal.

And you know what?

All that worry was in my head.

My body felt great. No cramps. No pain. No emergency bathroom stops. 🎉 I tried a new fueling gel that was actually delicious, had some amazing conversations, listened to some bomb playlists, and enjoyed weather that surprisingly cooperated during typhoon season here in Japan. 🌤️🇯🇵

Yesterday was a reminder that sometimes the hardest part isn’t the run itself. It’s convincing yourself you can do it.

So here’s to the incredible members of Miles & Vibes Run Club, and to the friends and family who continue to support me every step of the way. I couldn’t have done yesterday’s run without you. 🩵🏃‍♀️✨

🇺🇸 Labor Day Weekend | Days 2️⃣ & 3️⃣ ⚾️

PITCH PLEASE 🎀⚾️ came to play… and apparently so did the weather. 😂🌪️

Teams traveled from all over Japan, including Okinawa, Misawa, Sasebo & Iwakuni, and WOW… the talent was REAL! 👀🔥

We played all 6 games on Day 1, winning some, losing some, and having a whole lot of fun in between. Good people, good memories, and a VERY good playlist. 😂🎶

One of my favorite moments was finally getting to play against my softball mom/coach Alba! 🥹⚾️ Competitive on the field, all love afterward. ❤️🤝🏽

Also, my first time playing on an all-women’s team! 💪🏽⚾️ Definitely outside my usual coed softball experience, but I’m here for it!

Then Sunday rolled in with the typhoon 🌪️🌧️. We were supposed to play another 6 games, made it through ONE, and then Mother Nature officially called the game. 😂

Currently doing the reverse rain dance 💃🏽🙅🏽‍♀️🌧️ hoping we can get the last couple games in tomorrow!

If not… Yokota Tournament in October! 🤩⚾️
