Yesterday we got to do a little tennis tournament with some dope souls that are part of a group a started this summer. Major summer highlight, we'll definitely be making this a tradition! That said, im not big on posts but i believe this is worth sharing! Thank you to @michmich.jm for not going essy on us and bringing my game to the next level. Shout out to @mtl.un.common for being part of the gang and putting up with our shenanigans!! IYKYK 😅

BIG thx to Danny and Michna for helping me organize the tournament & to everyone that pulled up n came with good vibes. You could have been anywhere in the world but you chose to be with us from start to finish!

Not a validation or a "i need attention" post. Just gratitude. Simply gratitude.

I dont know what word to use to describe the feeling, but "scary" was an understatement.
For almost a month everything seemed normal.
Denial can be comfortable as a MF... Literally. It feels warm, even familiar until you sit in silence with you, yourself and your 4 walls. The room starts to cave in, the silence becomes loud and suddenly no word can reassure you or lift you to what you or the world around you always knew you to be "the optimist".

The moment they found a tumor in my brain, i went through over 4 weeks of test after test (almost every other day at the hospital) and the closer i got to my surgery date it kept getting more and more real. Again, denial feels good!! That and having an amazing friend who was there EVERY step of the way @it.takes.a.village_ (forever in debt)

I am loved. I have a great support system. Too many to @. But you all know who you are.

For those that know me know that im a very private person. VERY! I keep to myself but one thing im trying to do more is allow the world to show up for me. I DONE GAVE A LOT!! IYKYK And im not done giving cuz thats my baseline and will always be. But it feels great when its reciprocated. To be cared for. To be considered..

Im just happy i didnt ignore this health scare as i usually would. But in the name of Kimberly "Sweet Brown" Wilkins AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT, especially at our big age.

I say all of this because we often ignore the little things, and sometimes our body will find ways to tell us to slow down. But for some reason most of us keep putting it for another day until it tells us "Yeahh... Thats it pal, wrap it up. We can stop right here". This time i didnt ignore it and im happy about that choice. Moral of the story, be there for yourself mannn, give yourself grace! Surround yourself with people that show up for you and remember those that tried. I have soooo much to say, like how i would relive the whole experience again and again a thousand times. Not because i love pain but because of what comes after. Anyway, i exceeded my word count for the day on this app! On that note, stay grateful yall by @by.ahj

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜.

Friday night, I joined a powerful group discussion with other conscious Black men—sharing our lessons and wins. Notice I didn’t say losses. Why? Because we’re learning, growing, and rising together.

Then on Sunday, I had the honour of being on a conference panel where we dove deep into the different masculine archetypes: Alpha, Omega, Delta, Zeta and Kappa. The insights were rich, the conversations necessary… but sadly, not enough men were present.

And that’s the problem.

If we want to raise a different generation of men, we need to show up. We need more safe spaces. More real talk. More brotherhood.

👉🏽 Let’s change that.
If you’re a man who wants to grow—or you know one—tag him, share this, and get involved.

The next generation is watching. Let’s lead with intention.
