I’m giving you access to what haute couture clients actually see.

After Chanel presented its collection at Paris Couture Week in January, the pieces traveled to New York for a private re-see. I got up close with the swatches, the embroidery tests, and the specialty ateliers behind them.

Clients don’t buy garments straight off the runway. They refine them. Because luxury is about personalizing the details and engineering it to one’s specific body.

POCKETS. POCKETS. AND MORE POCKETS. 🤭

Apparently, I went to Balenciaga and developed a slight obsession with pockets.

But can you blame me? There’s something so satisfying about discovering a beautifully constructed garment that actually has somewhere to put your hands (and your phone!).

And just when I thought my pocket obsession couldn’t get any worse…

I spotted another one, cleverly hidden in the voluminous skirt of a **Balenciaga Fall Winter 2026 Haute Couture gown**.

Naturally, I had to point it out. 🤍

Runway vs. Reality Prada SS27: The Crystal Skirt, Look 28/63.

On the runway, a flash of light. Up close, an entirely different story.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons turned the skirt into a study of variation, exploring 63 different interpretations of a familiar garment. This crystal-embellished version catches the eye from a distance, but seeing it up close reveals a much more intricate effect: crystals recreate the delicate, interlaced look of guipure lace, bringing together the language of embellishment and the everyday wardrobe.

And that’s where the runway-to-reality contrast gets interesting. From afar, the skirt reads almost like a continuous shimmer. Worn and viewed up close, the texture, placement of the crystals and interplay of light become the story itself.

Because a runway look gives you the overall impression. The re-see gives you the details that make it.
