Six months ago, I quit my career. Not because I had it all figured out l, but because I realized I wanted to find out who I am without the title, the job, or the version of me everyone else knew.

And honestly? Starting over at 36 is scary.
But the fear of regret became bigger than the fear of starting again.
So here I am. 😁😍

Right now, I am a waitress. I am a Pilates teacher. I am figuring things out. I allow myself to be different versions of myself!
And I am letting myself be in the in-between until I know what comes next.

If you are a woman who feels like you have outgrown the life you built, but you are terrified to start over - maybe this is your reminder.

You are allowed to change your mind.
You are allowed to begin again.
And you are allowed to discover who you are beyond your title. ❤️ by @by.lisaeder

If you see this today, I hope this helps you making the right call for yourself ☺️
This was not an easy decision, this was not an overnight process, this was not an emotional reaction.
This was me, prioritising myself and my future and it took me months to find this clarity.
After 10+ amazing and crazy years in a high paced hospitality career, I pulled the break.
Not sure what is next, but I will try to figure out over the next weeks and month.
What I have learned in my career, I made sure this is in my back bag for the next chapter. ;)

When I left my corporate career, I didn’t need another perfectly structured plan, an expensive business setup or someone telling me who I should be online.

I needed space to figure things out, permission to experiment, small wins to build confidence and the right people to help me along the way.

Seven months later, I am still figuring things out. But I have learned that you don’t need to have everything mapped out before you start building something of your own.

Sometimes, you just need to stop listening to everyone else’s blueprint and start finding your own.

The interesting part about leaving my six-figure corporate salary? I am learning how to make money in completely different ways.
Seven months after resigning from my Director role, I am building something I never had before: multiple income streams that support each other and, hopefully, grow together.

Right now, that means casual jobs for stability, teaching Pilates, working at reception, building an online business and hosting my first paid speaking event this week.

Is it a little chaotic? Absolutely. Is it easy? Not always.
And no, I am not going to pretend you can replace a six-figure salary within a few months. 😅
That’s not how it works.

But here’s what I didn’t expect: how incredible it feels to make your own money. To create opportunities, try different things, earn your first dollars from something you built yourself. It humbles you.

Come along if this resonates with you ladies and if you wanna get more updates 💕

What if the biggest risk isn’t leaving your career, but spending another 10 years staying because you think you have invested too much to walk away?

So many women feel trapped by everything they have built.
Before you convince yourself you are starting from zero, do a career capital inventory, ladies!! 🙌🏻
Happy to help you if you are not sure where to start - but starting to write down what does NOT disappears when your job goes, is powerful.

Your skills, experience, relationships and track record don’t disappear when you leave your job. They stay with you.

Remind yourself what you already bring to the table. You are not starting from scratch. You are starting from experience.

They don’t see the fear, the doubts, the uncomfortable decisions or the moments you have no idea what you are doing. 😅
Seven months ago, I walked away from my director career without knowing exactly what would come next.

This week, I am hosting my first paid career workshop for a women’s network. A milestone I wouldn’t have reached if I had waited until I felt ready or not scared✨

Sometimes, you have to take the leap before you have it all figured out.

Because when I look 40 years into the future, I don’t want to remember a life spent working, chasing the next milestone always waiting for the weekend.

I want to remember that I lived. That I showed up for myself, for the people I love, and for the moments that made life feel like life.
The slow mornings. The conversations. The movement. The ordinary days that didn’t feel extraordinary at the time.

Maybe that’s what true wealth really is. Not just what you earn and what’s written on your business card, but what you get to experience and how intentional you create it. by @by.lisaeder

Seven months ago, I knew what I didn’t want and I quit my job as a director in luxury hospitality. I just didn’t know what came next. 🫠
And yes, I am privileged to have the space to figure it out, while working part-time and showing up for myself. And I don’t take that for granted. 🙏🏼

But privilege doesn’t make uncertainty disappear. You still have to find your direction, work on your mindset, and figure out where to start and what to do next :)

I want to make the most of this opportunity, even when it feels messy.
If you’re somewhere between who you were and who you are becoming, you are in the right place. 🤍

What if your 78-year-old self could give you advice today? Would you keep chasing the same things, or would you start looking at your life differently?
Would you stay in your job or would you leave? Would you be more bolt and dream bigger?

Sometimes, we need to zoom out to see what really matters. Maybe the perspective you need is already waiting for you in the future.
What do you think your future self would tell you?

If my post resonates with you, I invite you to ask yourself more of these questions and come along 💕

Did my career fail me, or had I simply outgrown the life I had worked so hard to build?
With a little more distance and reflection, I am beginning to see the bigger picture. My career wasn’t all bad. But it had come at a cost, and I knew something needed to change.

Yet starting over can be daunting and scary - here are the things that were the most challenging for me in the first few months.

1️⃣ The uncertainty.
No clear next step, no defined career path and no idea what comes next. When you have spent years working towards the next milestone, not knowing where you are heading can feel incredibly uncomfortable.

2️⃣ Letting go of your identity.
You have worked so hard for your title, experience and reputation. Who are you without them? Learning to separate who you are from what you do takes time.

3️⃣ Letting go of other people’s expectations.
As a high-achieving woman, you are often used to proving yourself and being acknowledged for what you do. Walking away from a successful career means accepting that not everyone will understand your decision. And yes, the fear of being judged is real.

4️⃣ Creating your own structure.
I love having my time back. But when nobody is setting your priorities, deadlines or next steps, freedom can quickly turn into feeling lost. You have to learn to create your own structure and discipline.

5️⃣ Being a beginner again.
I am teaching Pilates, working as a waitress and figuring out how to build something of my own. After years of experience and responsibility, starting over means being humble enough to learn, take opportunities and accept that you won’t be good at everything straight away.

If that might support you in your journey and you are looking for likeminded women, come along ladies 🩷

Sometimes, we stay because we are scared. Because we don’t know what’s next. Because everyone around us tells us to be realistic. Grateful.

But you owe it to yourself to check in, question what no longer works for you, and explore what else might be possible.

Seven months ago, I walked away from my corporate career. Today, I am starting over as a Pilates teacher, working as a waitress, and figuring out what I want to build next.

I am sharing the messy, uncertain and exciting parts of this journey here.
