First Trimester Diaries 🤍

Nothing prepares you for the first trimester.

One positive test changed everything.

I still remember taking leave from work just to confirm it at the hospital. My husband was in another city, and two days later he flew down. We spent hours talking not just about a baby, but about the life we were about to build together.

Then reality kicked in.

Morning sickness became an all-day thing. Every smell felt unbearable, even walking into the office cafeteria made me nauseous. I went from loving chicken to not being able to look at it. Some weeks I survived on khichdi, then spinach rice, then curd rice. Every few days, my “safe food” changed.

Somehow, I still showed up to work. Took my tablets. Counted down to the next nap. Wondered how my body was doing so much while looking completely normal from the outside.

In between all of that, we celebrated our first wedding anniversary, took a short trip to Sri Lanka, cooked our favorite meals, made a vision board for 2026, and quietly adjusted to becoming parents.

Looking back now, the first trimester wasn’t glamorous. It was exhausting, emotional, and full of uncertainty.

But it was also where our little story began. 🤍
