"Trayectorias abotonadas: La memoria de lo cotidiano"

(Buttoned Trajectories: The Memory of the Everyday)

Each object is hand written, as a large-scale (about 10:1 scale) handmade archives, made with recycled cardboard and strips of paiper-mâché

This project was inspired by my long heritage of woman that were dressmakers and/or did home sewing, including myself.

The writing on the object, are from the material evolution of the button, that now is mass produced, connecting with local textile history, of Chile's industrial past, from 19th century industrial woman's labor movement, to the tailors shops in Valparaíso.

Mechanical sewing

Wood sticks of 9mm, cut with a mini saw, and glue

This was part of an sculpture assignment, that we had to choose a fragment of the body and scale at least 5 time of its original size.

I was inspired of somehow, somewhere in the process of clothes industry there is always someone hand in the process, but is not in humanly way is in a industrial/mechanical way.

It was a process that got a lot of trials and errors, since it was my first time that I was working with wood and geometric shapes, Im really happy on how it turned out.

1 to 3 is the final product
4 to 6 is the assembly process
7 is the cardboard model, to get the measurements right

Cara de poker | Poker face - yeso

Primera entrega de Especialidad Escultura en la Escuela de Bellas Artes

Este fue un proceso muy entretenido, que partió en modelar nuestro rostro en arcilla (el cual era nuestro primer positivo), para sacarle un molde (el negativo) para después de hacer el vaciado de yeso (el 2ndo positivo)

1 -3) producto final
4) base de la arcilla
5 - 7 ) proceso de aplicado de yeso espuma para hacer el molde
8-10) separado del molde
