If you’re looking for a little weekend wisdom to enlighten you just in time for a friday movie night, check out last month’s roundup of movies to watch before (now, definitely after) you see Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey”! Also, a few fun pop culture moments to bring up at the bar on your next night out… by @byavamoon

Since graduating back in May, I’ve applied for nearly 100 jobs. You heard that right—we’re inching closer and closer to hitting triple digits. Between doomscrolling on LinkedIn and spending countless hours giggling at instagram reels (because “tiktok is addicting” -me), I’ve decided to moonlight as someone who has it all together (or at least attempted to feel a little less unemployed). Thus, using my copious amounts of random knowledge to enlighten the masses on the new & ancient pop culture texts through personal recommendations, commentary with a touch of sarcasm, and in-depth breakdowns. ‘Leaving’ is finally out!
If I’m being perfectly honest, this morning has not been as exciting as expected. I wrote this story from the perspective of a smart, successful, talented woman who is spoken down to and belittled by people around her, which is inherently something that minorities in this country have consistently dealt with. I was hoping to be able to say, my first work of published fiction is out AND we now have our first female president. Unfortunately, I can’t say that.

Nevertheless, this story has a happy ending. Maybe we can too.

Thank you for reading,
