grateful, thankful and forever #BLESSED to be a part of something as amazing as @laos_inthehouse. I knew 10 years ago that it would change my life and here we are, 10 years later, continuously growing, learning and creating community everywhere we go. Cheers to 10 years @catzuella, and to so many more! 🤍🇱🇦 by @bychristinaluang

💫𝟏𝟎𝟏𝟎 𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒍: here’s to good intentions, new beginnings, and a new art piece.✨

I find inspiration from cultural subjects and the feminine body to pay homage and appreciation to things that make me, me. For this piece I wanted to combine both. I grew up watching my mother work with so many different Lao & Thai textiles, fabrics and artistic religious and cultural motifs and have always found so much beauty in the artistry that is the Lao sinh. An ode to all the beauty that is our culture. 🇱🇦

To my fellow POC and especially to the Asian community, please understand that now is not the time to be silent. No matter how small or large your platform is, your voice and action are necessary and they are heard. NONE of us could have what we have and be where we are today without the Black community, without THEM who have fought for us all before and time and time again. All I ask is that you at least try to educate yourselves, reflect on your internalized anti-blackness. Challenge the model minority myth. Sign the petitions. Sign EVERY petition in regards to this. If you can donate anything at all to help those that fight for them and us, please donate. Take a stand and do what you can to unite our communities.
