One of my experience as an Alaga.

It is often very good as an Alaga not to allow emotions override discipline of our profession.
I was recommended to anchor an engagement by one of my aburo adugbo. The mum to the bride to be came to meet me around December 2025. We spoke at length. I wouldn't want to bore you but as an Alaga that knows her onions it was the right discussion.

I locked down the date for this year, each time the brides mum will call or come visiting me to reassure me and also remind me of the date.

Around March this year, she walked in and told me the bride needed to speak with me. E mi fun rami ti oyinbo dun lenu mi ati so. We discussed and she was happy and reassured me of the job.

Ahhh, as an Alaga I know deposit validates locking the date sugbon mo je ki emotions ko override professionalism.

Gbam! Last week someone called wanting our services on the same date, thank God for intuition I quickly asked the person to give me a second and put a call through to the brides mum.

Ahhhhhh, stories ba bere of one oversabi aunts on grooms side that is the event planner who initially said I cannot anchor for both sides has now decided that iro se ati ijoko ati iduro I no dey release am. If you want to marry into this family, my wish and command you must obey.

That is how my eyes opened oooo.
I now realised wipe laju e dada.

If you have collected upfront, stories for the gods would not come up now.

Hmmmmmm.....no hard feelings we move on with more wisdom in handling clients maje ki won gbe mi mora mo.

Passing on…

I was young once.

To all of my female friends from 40 years and up... most of us are going through the next phase of our lives.
We're at that age where we see wrinkles, gray hair, and extra pounds. Menopause may have appeared or is just waiting around the corner.

We see the cute 30-year-olds and reminisce. But, we were also 30, just as they will one day be our age. What they bring to the table with their youth and zest, we bring with our wisdom and experience. We have raised families, run households, paid the bills, dealt with death, sadness, and everything else life has assigned us.

We are survivors... we are warriors in the quiet... we are women...like a classic car or a fine wine. 🍷

Even if our bodies may not be what they once were, they carry our souls, our courage, and our strength. We shall all enter this chapter of our lives with humility, grace, and pride over everything we have been through, and we should never feel bad about getting older. It's a privilege that is denied to so many. 😢⚘

Ladies, I challenge you to copy proudly with your picture and age and thank God for still being here.
