I’ve been able find a bit of time to make a decent start on my Christmas sewing which included this gorgeous @fabricgodmother Astrid skirt. When I saw the beautiful starry pleated fabric and sparkly elastic for the waistband I knew I had to make it immediately. I absolutely love it, it’s so swishy! It was the perfect festive addition when I was being Santa’s elf at my daughter’s school today.

⭐️⭐️Open for business ⭐️⭐️

I’ve now got a shelf in @thecafeivy selling my handmade products.

If you’re local, please come along and have a look! At the moment I have scrunchies and coin purses, but I’ll be adding to it over time with more designs and products, including make up bags.

I particularly love the purple unicorn fabric as the unicorns glow in the dark, so I’ll be making more items in that fabric too.

I can also make to order, so if there’s any particular item or print you have in mind let me know.

Arthur’s teacher was going on maternity leave so I made a bear baby blanket for her. I love all of Elizabeth Hartman’s patterns and even though the bears are made of lots of little pieces, this was quite a quick make.

Pattern: Bjorn bear by @elizabethagh
Fabric: @konacotton solids in lots of rainbow colours for the bears: orangeade, terracotta, coral, pecan, sage, pistachio, mango, mac and cheese, salmon, leaf, gumdrop, evening, espresso and snow.
@robertkaufman yarn dyed linen in denim for the blue blender
@dashwoodstudio Cedar camp friends for the gorgeous woodland friends fabric for the backing.

⭐️ Sewing Star ⭐️
I’m so proud of my little girl. She got her first sewing machine at Christmas and on Sunday she made herself a top!

We went to the @fabricgodmother open day last month and had so much fun looking at all the fabrics. The lovely people there answered all of Aurelia’s questions and helped her pick out this yummy cakey cotton poplin.

We chose @tillybuttons Stevie top as a nice one for her to start with in a size 2, and shortened the pattern for her by 2 inches.

The instructions were really clear for her to follow and she finished it off with a @little.rosy.cheeks label

Her machine is the yellow JL110 from
John Lewis. I wanted to get her something robust to start off with and being a @Janomeuk, like my machine, it means she can use all of my accessories.

Now I will feel less guilty dragging my kids around fabric shops!

❤️ COSY ❤️

Aurelia loves nothing more than being warm and cosy. When I saw the @MrsMoonyarn knitting pattern for their Zig Zag Jumper I knew it would be perfect for her.

It needed to be machine washable so I made it in various shades of @KingColeltd Big Value Super Chunky yarn from @woolwarehouse It knitted up really well with a nice bouncy texture.

The pattern was knitted top down with the sleeves made flat. It was a very quick knit, only taking a couple of weeks.

I love this zipper pouch from @greenstyle_patterns which got recommended to me at a recent #surreysewcial

I made these for my children’s teachers as Christmas gifts but it’s the perfect handy present for everyone so am getting my production line going.

Front Pouch::
Outer: @dashwoodstudio Jungle Luxe with tropical birds and gold metallic thread
Lining: @lewisandirenefabrics Bumbleberries in carnival pink

Back Pouch (all Lewis and Irene)
Outer: Paws and Claws in purple
Inner: Tiny Tonals Cats in cream

Both used @vlieseline_uk H640 fusible fleece and a 9” zip.

Last night I started my @coolwoolings Funfetti scarf knitting kit that I picked up from @theknittingandstitchingshows I love the bright neon colours and extra soft and cosy yarn. This should be a quick knit.

Despite the warning in the pattern, and me checking it multiple times, I STILL managed to sew my waistband upside down.

I blame kitten Link for getting too involved in my sewing late last night, instead of saving Hyrule.

Really nice pattern so far, though I must pay more attention next time!

This was a quick make! My sister spotted this pretty Japanese inspired fabric when we were out shopping at @susanwillowdevizes for a Grainline Studio Scout tee..She didn’t have much time, so I offered to make It for her in return for some tea and liquorice.

My overlocker is broken 😭 so I French seamed the insides to give it a nice finish. I made the neckline with satin bias tape and used the longer sleeve length from the expansion pack but shortened slightly so they were 3/4 length. Finally finished with a nice label ❤️
