If you’ve been online recently, you know the beauty world has been talking…and we’ve been listening. The community has been rallying behind Makeup artist Ngozi “Esther” Edeme, known as @paintedbyesther, after Patrick Ta lifted her signature blush technique — a dramatic gradient designed specifically to pop on deeper skin tones — and trademarking the phrase that became synonymous with Esther’s work.

What started as a debate over a product launch became a much bigger conversation about support, attribution, influence, and the ways Black beauty innovations move from niche communities into the mainstream — often without credit, often without compensation.

Our hearts and prayers are with everyone in Jamaica impacted by Hurricane Melissa. 💚

The Government of Jamaica, through the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), is leading national relief efforts to ensure help reaches those who need it most.

Flashing back to our #HoneyJam30 interview with the incredible @kibramusic, an emerging R&B/Soul artist, and the powerhouse founder of @thegreenprintnetwork.

Not only did Kibra share how her Creative Writing & Performance 101 program is giving youth a safe space to create, we also heard firsthand from Greenprint participant Diana on the impact it’s had. 💫
