EP: The Vale Origins, Memories of Us Producer: For One Night Only, Nondecomposable, Behind the Wheel

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’m so excited to announce that our film, The Vale — Origins, is having its global online premiere today! It is now streaming on Omeleto, the world’s premier platform for award-winning short films with 4 million subscribers.

The film follows a grieving inventor family who finds new life in their young child’s imaginations. Based on the NYT best selling novel by Abigail Hing Wen, it stars 3x-Tony Award Winner Lea Salonga and animation by Emmy Winner John Aoshima.

We are coming off an incredible festival run, including a world premiere at San Diego Comic-Con to nearly 1000 people, plus taking home Best Animation at Geekfest’s Long Beach Comic Con Film Festival, Best Actor (for Lea Salonga) at San Diego Kids International Film Festival and Best Adaptation at Portland’s Festival of Cinema, Animation and Technology.

Now, we finally get to share it with all of you. You can watch the full film right here:

For One Night Only (2025, written and directed by Tobin Carter): SYNOPSIS: Six months after the loss of Quinn’s childhood best friend Alex, Quinn returns home from college for the holidays. However, at a party, he meets a girl who could pass as Alex’s doppelgänger, forcing Quinn to confront his unchecked grief.

When I was at college, there were so many people from home I found myself missing desperately, and it was so easy to try to build relationships with new people off of foundations you created with someone else. But I learned you can’t masquerade as a ghost in somebody else’s life, and learning that was such a valuable moment in my life.

Going into this film I was incredibly daunted. I wanted a Christmas movie, to shoot in July. I had written some of my most complex characters to date. There were so many locations. It would require a huge crew. Yet somehow I got so lucky, and I got the best team imaginable to bring this film to life! I’m so so excited for everyone to see this one — I’m so beyond proud of it.

Nondecomposable (2025, written and directed by Tobin Carter): Synopsis: A woman discovers she is a ghost, but it’s the decisions she made in her life that come back to haunt her.

Making this film specifically for a competition, Nondecomposable was a special challenge for me. I’ve always struggled with wanting to make scripts longer, so being limited to only being allowed a five minute runtime challenged me in a way I never had been before. The challenge was to make a horror film, but instead of jump scares I knew I wanted to lean into the unnerving aspects of The Twilight Zone and how those stories fear factor lingered. This film was made as a submission to @plasticpollutes festive “Plastic Kills… Again!” with a goal to bring awareness to the dangers of plastic pollution through horror short films and we were fortunate enough to come in third place amongst some truly top tier films!! Thank you so much to everyone involved with the festival. I would also like to thank my incredible cast and crew who took this incredibly short film, and helped elevate it to one of the projects I’m most proud of! My gratitude is endless 🫂🫂
