The MICHELIN Guide has revealed its annual global Key hotel selection for 2026. Here in Colorado, 16 properties earned Keys, up from 14 last year.

NEW: The Broadmoor and The Mining Exchange—both in Colorado Springs—each earned One Key. Dunton Hot Springs retained the state’s one and only Two-Key status.

Colorado’s only MICHELIN Star in the mountains belongs to an Aspen native who has spent nearly three decades foraging them.

Chef and owner Barclay Dodge first earned the One Star distinction for Bosq in 2023 and has retained it every year since.

“I’m a local through and through,” Dodge told me when I profiled him for MICHELIN Guide Magazine.

In a town driven by tourism, that word carries particular weight for those who live and work here year-round. At Bosq, it’s an all-encompassing ethos: he began foraging around the Elk Range and Roaring Fork River in 1997, developing an intimate knowledge of native plants, flowers and mushrooms that now find their way onto his tasting menus.

MICHELIN Guide Magazine: Checking into Limelight Boulder

Just added to the MICHELIN Guide hotel selection, Limelight Boulder opened last fall, steps from the University of Colorado campus.

The 210-room hotel is built for Boulder’s outdoorsy ethos: airy rooms with picture windows, storage for stashing gear, Therabody recovery equipment, and local healthy snacks. Outside: a year-round pool deck that’s more après than academia.

Aspen regulars will recognize who’s downstairs from Ajax Tavern to chef Mawa McQueen’s Crepe Therapy Café. With school back in session, The Hill has a new HQ.

Valley Curtain by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Rifle, Colorado, 1972

Invited to Colorado through an Aspen Center for Contemporary Art artist residency, Christo and Jeanne-Claude conceived one of their earliest and most ambitious large-scale projects after exploring sites across the Western Slope.

Stretching 1,250 feet across Rifle Gap (68 miles out of town) and suspended up to 365 feet above the valley floor, Valley Curtain took nearly three years to complete before it was installed.

Less than 30 hours later, winds exceeding 60 mph tore the fabric. The artists chose not to rebuild it, securing Valley Curtain‘s place as one of the most stunning examples of public land art in the state. taken in Aspen, Colorado by @bykatieshapiro
