VERY excited to announce the return of Japanese drone/psych rock legends @borisdronevil to Newcastle after a decade!

Boris formed in 1992 and eventually arrived at the band’s current lineup of Takeshi, Wata, and Atsuo in 1996. In the years since, Boris has tirelessly explored their own rendition of what is heavy through methods entirely their own. Though the depths of their “heaviness” may intensify, their unique musicianship defies classification in any one genre or style, so let’s just call it real “heavy music” in extreme color. Their music has been called a “game changer” regarding the leading edge of the world’s rock scene, and that influence is limitless. They enter realms that cannot be described simply in terms of the “explosive sound” or “thunderous roars” that have become their trademark.

Support comes from the gloomgaze hero @inmemoryofthom (Planning for Burial).

@maiovvi_yegods is the project of producer and one founding half of the Giallo Disco Records label, Antoni Maiovvi

Last seen in Newcastle in 2025 with Xeno & Oaklander we're excited to have Ye Gods back, this time to perform a headline show and also with a new release on the horizon. Ye Gods music provides a dark, trippy and atmospheric feel spanning across ambient, industrial, techno and beyond.

Support comes from the duo of @_humilationsadisease__ and @y_gwacter Who combine harsh noise with live painting and @martynreid under his 'Depletion' moniker providing dark and dystopian analog soundscapes

It all takes place at @thelubberfiend on Friday, 16th October.

Coming up this Friday at @thelubberfiend

@maiovvi_yegods is the post-industrial musical project of prolific British artist Antoni Maiovvi, film composer, producer and co-founder of the influential Giallo Disco label. Blending dark ambient, electroacoustic texture, playful sound design with quasi-folk song structure, Ye Gods evokes a place both wonderful and strange.

Antoni’s career began in Bristol, UK when in 2008, after spending over half a decade involved in free noise and alternative music. His work spans everything from noise rock to scores to films both real and imaginary, and his unique blend of styles has earned him a dedicated cult following for those adventurous to dive in.

Beyond Ye Gods, he has released critically acclaimed albums on labels such as LA’s Not Not Fun, NYC’s New Retro Wave, and legendary Dutch techno label Bunker.

His new album Los on celebrated label Rocket Recordings, is a continuation on the trilogy of albums released in 2025 (coinciding with tours opening for Xeno & Oaklander and Mogwai) combining deliberately strange longform structure and features collaborations from Jarboe (ex-Swans) and members of acoustic drone group Tongue Depressor.

Pale World and Y Gwacter is the sound art collaboration between harsh noise musician Joe Parkes and visual artist Angharad Jones, who together create textural noise compositions derived from the sounds of live painting in real time.

This year they've performed across the UK including Iklectik, London, Industrial Coast, Middlesbrough and Negative Output, The White Hotel Salford.

Depletion is the moniker of @martynreid, one half of synthpop duo Marina Zispin and runs analogue tape label Dark Passage

Exploring the dark corners of electronic industrial noise through use of tape loops. analog synthesisers and electronics providing dark and dystopian analog soundscapes

Putting the Castle in Newcastle next March! The trad doom duo, formed in San Francisco circa 2009 bring riffs of thunder and occult rock spellcasting over to Europe when they embark on their 2027 tour.

The band are currently signed to Hammerheart Records where new album 'Carrie Chains' was released on earlier this month featuring 8 tracks of pure steel.

@heavycastle are no thrills, no gimmicks. Just pure and raw rock n' roll. Full throttle by the bottle!

Stoked to have North-East brutal death metal band Asphyxiation and local metalcore lot @nullscape.band joining this hard and heavy lineup.

They join @burnermetal whose new album 'No One Is Coming to Save Us' drops on September 25th via @churchroadrecords and @wornoutnoise bringing the hardcore from Ireland.
