A close friend sent me a video message recently, saying it sounded like I was “looking for purpose.”

I get why it looks that way.

2025: seven months Vietnam, three Switzerland, two France. Before that, two years in Paris, then Saigon for a role that made sense at the time. No real base since 2022 (if base means your own cup of tea, your own couch, your own apartment.)

But that word - purpose - doesn’t land for me.

And I’ve been thinking about why.

I tried to write honestly about it.

And for a moment, I felt oddly emotional because for at least a decade, I thought that‘s what I should have done. Studying! Welllll, life found different ways to make me learn.🙂‍↔️

30 people gathered at @coincoin.zurich for my first WorkTalk on AI, how it’s changing the way we build, think, and decide. The energy was honest… and grounded.🥹

Most of them weren’t tech people. They were founders, small biz owners, independents. People trying to figure out what the next decade of work means for them, and how to stay relevant without losing themselves in the process.

People showed up with such curiosity, open about where they are with AI and what they’re still figuring out.

Thanks to everyone who made it to this event and heartfelt thanks to @saerah.kimchi and @florianzeman the best hosts I could ask for for making this night possible, and a huge hug to my sister @chrissyphoreal, for creating the snacks inspired by my last three and a half years between Switzerland, Vietnam, and France.🇻🇳🇫🇷🇨🇭

Two years ago, I stepped into a leadership role that pulled me in every direction.

I was managing teams, building brands, pitching decks, sourcing vendors, and still expected to stay creative, while juggling decisions and feedback loops all day.

At some point, I started second-guessing everything. My pace. My judgment. My decisions. And I couldn’t tell which voice in my head was mine.

That’s when I realized, I didn’t need more tools. I needed something to hold how I think.🧠😶‍🌫️

So out of necessity, not hype, I started working with AI. (ChatGPT, Midjourney etc.) To stay close to my own process. Every step of the way:

I used it to test ideas.
To run internal debates.
To play out what each decision might cost me.
To protect my taste under speed.
And to sharpen how I decide.

This session is built from that stretch of time.

If you want “the moment”, second last slide. But yea, it’s coming back. But really coming home. To myself.

Back to Switzerland’s dumb-perfect lakes that cure everything and nothing at once. Not to who I was, but to the place that raised me.🇨🇭

I used to think the hardest part about leaving your country was saying goodbye.
It’s not. It’s what happens when you return. Because the person who left… you won’t get her back.

I touched down in Zurich at the end of May.
Hadn’t been back in over a year.
The streets, the air, the accent… but my god, I think my system had been running in high gear for so long, I forgot what stillness actually felt like.

I cried so many times. Didn’t even know why. But maybe I was so damn happy. Like, kid-level happy. That soft, dumb joy you can’t fake.🙃

Working through the layers right now: work, life, heart. Step by step.

Also… name a better feeling than jumping into Lake Brienz on your 40th birthday, with fondue you hadn’t tasted since moving to Paris and then Saigon and your favorite people right there with you.
